Cool. I'm glad so many people have had good experiences with LCDs. I hope mine last a long time with no problems...though if I keep getting drool on it ... ;)

Congrats! Enjoy the new view. Plus, the LCD doesn't emit any known harmful radiation like the old CRT did.

At the last store i worked at, we had a lineup of a couple dozen different CRTs and LCDs, and i've never seen a customer 'oooh' and 'aaahh' over a CRT, but everyday i would see people doing that over the LCDs.

I've been using LCDs for a LONG time. I have never had one develop bad pixels, though I've lost the occasional backlight. It has been my experience that, unless the panel is subject to abuse like aggressive finger-poking, what you see when the panel is delivered is what you'll always see, pixel-count-wise.

Among the couple of dozen LCD panels I've owned personally I have seen ONE bad pixel. I know, I've been very lucky.

Same here, except the "dead" pixel for me was actually a stuck sub-pixel, easily remedied with 20 seconds and a Q-tip :) All the other panels I've worked with haven't even had stuck sub-pixels, I think people blow the dead pixel thing out of proportion sometimes...

But anyways, glad to hear this KDOG. I've been holding on to a good chunk of money I saved up since LCD's got popular to find the right 17" or 12x10 res LCD to replace my 19" DiamondTron. It looks like the time to "blow my wad" sotospeak is getting close :D

I've been using LCDs for over 5 years. CRT is too big for my cramped room, so no choice other than LCDs. I have three panels in my house and one in the workplace. They don't have dead pixels except the one I bought for the first time.

I heard LCD is less harmful to eyes than CRT, but is that true? I think it's same difference gazing small characters anyway.
