Went from some JBL Platinum stereo speakers to the Creative 350 set (low end 2.1) It makes a world of a difference having a sub woofer. Sounds actually has depth to it and games rock.

optical DTS audio > all.....via Soundstorm of course:D

I use coax... but yeah :)

Too bad the speakers are centered around the tv and not my comp desk. Oh well.

yeah, same here. playing games is not the adventure I pictured it to be. 5.1 gaming is nice, but not exactly as such when the speakers are 10ft away:(

are you talking about those huge square things on both sides of the TV?

If so, those things are so fuckin' ugly. I don't care how good they sound, I would never own such monstrosities.

Guess it's a good thing that people differ so much, if we didn't life sure would be boring... Let me guess, you own an iPod?

I've got a digital decoder, but my soundcard doesn't have the right output to input to my decoder. :( 5.1's without DD is kinda annoying.

Eh my Cambridge FPS-1800s via SB Audigy 2 do the trick. Already invested enough as is in my reg home theater with the H/K receiver, Paradigm sub and probably going to swap the speakers out for some Norh speakers that I don't really need to spend more on PC speakers.

Headphones are for geeks. :p

I have a set of Klipsch V.2-400 speakers and they blow away most home stereo speakers. Yes, powered subwoofers for computer sound is amazing when you crank it up. I won't replacing these speakers until they break. ;)
