thats an awsome tool, but i think its pretty expensive, at least when compared to a regular saw

$2700 + shipping with no add on's

Or you can buy a regular table saw and save over $2K by not stick your fingers in it

While you're at it, why not test it with yer throat to see if it will do worse than cutting yourself shaving? Oh wait, that might be this years Darwin Award!

What a rip off. I got a 5HP 12" grizzly table saw for half that price with a huge fence table etc.

Anyone every heard of push sticks? How someone can get injured ona table saw is beyond me. Drill press yes, chop saw yea but I think a table saw is one if not the most safest tool primarly because blade is stationary and you work well out of range of the blade.

uncles sleeve got caught in the blade, lost 3/4 of one finger, 1/4 of another, 1/2 of another, 1/8 of another.

Yep, there are lots of ways to get hurt with a tablesaw - most of which this device won't help with. All preventable with a little care and attention of course, but security is best done in layers. So if you do get careless and do something stupid, the backup kicks in to save you.

Now test it on a real finger.

Or, if you've got the guts, with some other body part...

Dude... stop making these visual images come into my head. :frown:

Damn, that would just be crazy stupid lol. That would really hurt, i feel pain already.

Sounds like he needs it. I've never had an industrial accident. But then it's a hobby - not tying to make money or have production quotas to meet so I take my time. Worst thing ever happened to me on a table saw was my old powermatic binded some really hard Brazilian walnut between fence and blade and shot back at me. Course it hit me right the the nads otherwise I would'nt have felt it at all.

Bet you don't stand directly behind the piece anymore. I've heard of kickbacks punching a hole in sheetrock across the room. I've had one myself that I'm damn glad I wasn't behind - it cracked like hell when it hit the edge of the bench 10 feet away.
