i configured the following system @ buyxg.com:

Antec SX1030 case w/450 PSU
A64 3200+
Asus K8V deluxe
2*512 (1 gb) of pc3200
WD 160 GB SE (8mb cache)
Sony 16X DVD
NEC2500A dvd burner
nvidia 5950
600W stero sub
3 yr standard warrenty on parts, one year on site serivce

total: $1299 + shipping

then i configured the system as close as possible at newegg, selecting the cheapest 5950 (since bran was no specified) and the one of the cheapest 1 gb kit (Geil for $203), without even adding a sub, the total was more than $1450+

next time i'm in the market for a system, i'm gonna stop buy buyxg first

i just see a lot of people configuring AMD systems so i thought i would pass on my experiances

Though it might be known here that NewEgg isn't the cheapest, it is fairly well known that they have good customer service, as long as that site you gave has good service, then it'll be worth while to keep that bookmarked.

Wonder what Reseller Ratings has on them.... going to check.

Not so stelllar rating.... 4.67.
Better with a 8.41@ 6 months, or 7.84 lifetime.

Price isn't everything. One must also keep in mind a companies RMA policy. Out of all of the companies I have ever dealt with, Newegg offers a superior RMA service. All of the parts you listed in your original post can be purchased at Newegg for $1292 (less the PMPO subwoofer which is pure garbage anyhow).

buyxg employees also spammed the Hot Deals forum on a few occasions. :|

They must be newbies, i've been shopping at pricewatch for 7 yrs and half of the time cheap = defective. I wonder why they charge restocking fee for defective stuff and then repeat this to the next customer??

...that I've never seen. I haven't seen a single better price at any retail store since Christmas (the last time WD and Seagate had 3-yr drives for sale retail).
