Wow...I never noticed firefox took up so much RAM.

284mb with 9 tabs open.

FF likes to crash when it fills up my memory and my page file (small because i need to reformat)

Memory issues... developers won't even acknowledge it, I've had it go up to ~130MB without issue, just leave it open for longer than you normally might and it goes up quite a bit, run java applets for some time and 200MB+ is not hard at all to reach.

In this aspect Opera is much better although it seems to render identical pages differently almost like they're using a randomization feature 😛

Even though I am an avid believer in Opera, why does it matter?

These days, computers are loaded with memory. Unless you're using an econo-PC, shouldn't really have to worry about it.

Yeah I have 2GB so I'm not worried...it just seemed a bit excessive. I mean...that's almost as much as AOL takes just sitting in the notification area on some of my customers computers.

1 tab right now and it's at 160 megs (i just closed like 10 tabs though... about to go to sleep).

I've seen it break 400 megs though easily.

software forum.

this horse has been beat to death so much, there isn't that much of the horse left to beat. FF users are not going to change IE user's minds, and vice-versa. let's just get over it already.
