Over power lines. Imagine, getting on the internet thru your power company and just plug it into your outlet.

Yup, it's not DSL.

But yes, broadband over power lines has been out for some time in foreign test markets and even some domestic test markets (I think).

Lots of places were complaining that it'd interfere with tv and radio signals and such though so it isn't widespread in the US yet. Also don't know the speeds but I don't think it's as fast as standard DSL/Cable modem service.

DSL is a very specific set of technologies that applies to phone systems, this is totally different & is called BPL (as already mentioned).

Yup, this has been out for a while (1997?). It has massive possiblities and it was looked at as the next big thing for the interent. They even have networks over powerline products out now (been out for a while). It has great potential, but things like EM inteference are making this slow and unreliable.
