I dont believe that crap 1 bit. Its flat out lie. I drink folgers instant with Coffee mate 50 % of the time and Star Bucks' Double Latte' or regular coffee 50% and there is a shit load of difference. I do agree that they are rip off but taste is very different. Also I tried the ?new? McDonalds coffee and its was just horse pee...

I spent $4.50 on a cup of coffee, which I don't normally do. After I drank it, a guy approached me with a camera crew and a microphone. He asked me if I enjoyed my coffee. I told him it was very good. It turns out that they swapped my normal Starbucks for Folgers instant!!!! I never would have believed it. It was really good coffee.

I hope they start serving it at Starbucks full time. I'd definitely pay $4.50 a cup if it's that good.

Did you spit it all over his face in "surprise"?

Some things, I am just not sensitive enough to, to tell the difference. Coffee is not among those. Like many coffee lovers, I drink it black, and the difference in coffee is easily detectable. I would have involuntarily spit instant on the cashier the moment I sipped it.

Same. I call shens.

How or why would any Starbucks willingly do this? 😕

Exactly, why would they have their coffee be equated in quality with Folgers and for less money???

hahaha, to tell you the truth, I probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference either

I think the OP just got hired by Folgers. Given the current fail state of the economy, he's urging ATOTers to go out and purchase Folgers so that his job is more secure due to rising profits.

there is so much fail in the OP's post. so a tall (large) cup of coffee is about $1.70 + tax. i don't see how you could spend $4.50 without dumping in tons of syrups. i highly doubt that the syrups are part of any folgers product. next, starbucks would never let a competitor film at their location or serve coffee at their location.

+1

I got sick of DD'S real quick, too smooth (and clean) for me now. Nothing beats a home brew from a machine that wasn't cleaned in 6 months.

Obviously this thread is a complete lie for so many reasons. A regular coffee is not 4.50 at Starbucks - and if you can't tell the difference between folgers instant and a mocha lattefrappacino or whatever goes for 4.50, you've got more serious issues to deal with. Secondly, why in the hell would Starbucks ever allow this to happen in their store?

I guess this was a "cute" attempt to tell us that Folgers is perfectly fine and people are crazy for spending what they do on Starbucks (and I agree, although I'm a Maxwell House fan myself), but still.....0/10

You were just caught up in the moment. How did they switch it? They infiltrated Starbucks? Several holes in your story.

several holes in the op's head for paying 4.50 for a cup of coffee. 😉
you can get a whole breakfast meal for that much.

i get lots of people giving me starbucks gift cards because others give them to them and they dont want them, and i can tell you that a vente iced caramel macciado (or however its spelled) is $4.32 here in az. if i didnt have that free money id never go there. its mediocre coffee at best. folgers would be a definite step up to that burnt ass tasting crap they usually serve there. but for free ill drink the flavored stuff once in a while.
