yup, with George Clooney in the lead if I remember right. I believe it was done live too. read the book back in the late 70s or early 80s, found it in a box of my dad's old books.

i am happy to award this production MAXIMUM TBD APPROVAL!

as a fan of the genre, i'm pleased with how they remained very true to the original, yet drastically improved by cutting out the extraneous fluff (which may have been lost in translation from the book i haven't read). the production was hard hitting, succinct, and looked great. hell, even the 240p youtube video lent itself well to this period piece.

i can't recall actually seeing another live broadcast dramatic feature but i really enjoyed this. you couldn't ask for a more loaded cast, and they played their roles faithfully. even with a couple minor hiccups, they rolled right on.

if this had been the original movie it would have been regarded as well as dr. strongelove, then and now.
