I was to discover that the Hitler bloodline was carried on through William Patrick's four sons - one of whom died in a road accident in 1989 - and that the brothers had decided in a remarkable pact not to have children themselves in order that Adolf Hitler's genes would die with them.

It's remarkably stupid not to have children just because some relative was the most notoriously insane jackoff of the twentieth century. The very fact that decent people had to change their name because of this is idiotic. I'm sure there were plenty of Hitlers who were remarkable people and to have one person disgrace the family name is just sad.

There is nothing necessarilly wrong with the Hitler name or the Hitler genes. These people shouldn't punish themselves for being born to their parents.

I've got more to say, but I can't articulate it right now... heh

If that is what they want to do, why not? I don't believe that through genes their offspring will be evil, but if it gives them peace of mind knowing that Hitler's bloodline will die off then let them.

See that's the whole problem. "but if it gives them peace of mind knowing that Hitler's bloodline will die off..." Why would anyone need peace of mind that his bloodline will die off? What is the worst thing that someone's bloodline can do? Why do you agree with their decision? Do believe that evil or insanity is spread by bloodlines? WHY DO THEY NEED PEACE OF MIND THAT HIS BLOODLINE WILL DIE OFF? What would happen if it didn't? O.....M.....G.....

You obviously didn't read it carefully. I said I didn't think it spreads anything. If they do then what the hell do you care. If you were related to the most evil person in the 20th century you might have a different opinion. For the people who changed their names did you ever think they could be embaressed from being associated with him? If that's what they decided, I wouldn't call it dumb. That is just what they want to do.

They are not hurting anyone. Their decision does seem to be illogical to me, so I guess you are right about that. But if that is what they want to do, then why the hell not? Let them not have kids, who does it hurt?
 
Now we're on the same page. No one's stopping them from making the decision. If I could stop them, I wouldn't. It doesn't make sense to me though.
 
Neo-nazis would view their offspring as half-gods if those kids would become nazis again.
For that reason alone I think it's a good thing. Neo-nazis still hold any old nazi-relic they can find as a shrine (burial places, buildings, etc), so that would be even stronger with offspring of the Nazi-Germany leader.
