Yes it does mean capture the flag. My question is does this mod support CTF?
I'd rather not D/L a 1 GB file only to see that it doesn't have CTF, but for some reason no one seems willing to answer my question. 🙁

It has 3 game modes.. (2 of them new I believe)

The normal battlefield2 conquest..
A mode called 'frontlines'.. where you can only spawn from your frontline captured flag..
(and you can only take the enemies frontline flag as well I believe).. so you have to push them back slowly. (no sneaking around to their rear flag or any of that crap that I've always disliked about bf2)
And the third.. I can't remember.. I think it was some kind of infintry-only thing..

Why aren't there any real CTF mod I wonder? Desert Combat CTF was awesome, and it still has quite a few servers going strong, mainly because ther is no real BF2 CTF mod though. Very disappointing.

I use to play POE mod for BF vitenam , a really good mod i must say 🙂


But why did they make a mod for BF2 when its about the same setting :*(

I actually play Desert Conflict but it's only a beta version and has been that way for nearly a year. It used to have many servers running it, but it is now down to about 7 servers total and they are almost always empty because they have nver released their full version. It's supposedly been real close to release for about six months. It's sad really. These guys have worked hard to make a mod, yet they have taken so long that it's basically dead before it ever got started.

We do have a group that gets together every Wednesday night to play, but that's it. In fact, I haven't seen anyone play Desert Conflict on a night other than Wednesday for months now.

So that's why I stated there is no real CTF mod for BF2.

Played a new map last night...forgot the name but man it was the SHiiizzzi.

Had mutliple choppers and jets...and was narrow and snowy.

The choppers are awsome to fly...and add a nice touch with multiple rockets...

The nicest part is they re-spawn faster than you do when you die, so anyone waiting for a vehicle will get it before you...which is a nice touch for those always waiting and getting TK'd but the same turd vehicle whores !!!

But that map was awsome to play on...I am just so impressed with this mod

You're Ike from TCC, huh? I used to play with you all the time, until summer came around and everyone stopped playing. I recall being impressed with your ability to hit things really far away with the AT rocket. (the damn thing reloading in front of my face always messes me up). My BF2 handle was Gully_Foyle_1.
Anyway, if POE can make such a big splash this late in the game, there is still hope for Desert Conflict, and it's CTF mode.

Yea, that's me. And yeah, I do remember your SN. It was alot of fun when there were several servers full each night. We always though that was pretty good for an inital release Beta.

They (DC devs) say they are still planning on a full release soon, but they've been saying it for so many months now we've become immune to their hype.

If you still want to play some CTF, we play on the TCC server every Wednesday evening (starting around 8:00 PM central) and all get on our public Teamspeak. We had about 38 players at once last Wednesday which was the most I've seen in a while and it was actually alot of fun.

this mod is better than regular battlefield, and havent had a single crash yet.....only thing is its a bit more memory hungry, my system strugles at times, but those who have higher end pc's should have no probs

because Bf2 didnt exactly choose a good conflict... the end of the cold war is a much more beleiveable time..
and way more eventful
