Wow Halo 3 gets even more underwhelming to me

You are missing what makes Halo great. Large online battles usually suck because of lag and cheaters. Also I would prefer to have a good strategic game with 5 to a side, then a free for all point and shoot with more people.

I don't know, but Halo 2 is full of them online.
