WOW!! got my new work laptop!!

Just started working yesterday and they gave me a new lappie. a Thinkpad T42P. 1.8ghz P-M, 1.5GB of ram, ATI FireGL T2 w/ 128mb of vram and an 80gig HD.... man I can't wait to install CS on this thing

I wouldn't expect anything too impressive that card is best suited for doing things like CAD and 3D modeling. Yeah it'll work but I suspect an X800 would mop the floor with it in gaming benchmarks.

i'm reasonably sure the t2 is based on the R9600/9700 core. so it should run cs quite well.. especially with the ram

heh heh i don't think they make lappies with x800 core workstation cards

well, if it does not perform well with cs on it, you can alwasy play sim city 2000

Well I have a toshiba M30-YP3 1.86, 1 gig of ddr 400, Nvidia 6600 PCI-E w/ 128meg of vram and a 5400rpm HDD and it runs CSS or CS freaking amazing!

My only regret is that my battery life went down from my M30!

But HL2 and WOW etc run great.

Fresh out of college computer engineer. This is the first time my company hired college grads. Usually they hire experienced professionals. got lucky . it's all computer. mostly database work, but also involves a lot of file/email recovery, password cracking, data security... fun stuff

sweet, my friends brother works at a local ISP and is CCIE, he gets all the good stuff.

including a like $4k Dell laptop that even has a 6800 video card in it.. pretty wicked... grats!

Enjoy! I have T30 myself, only laptop Ive comfortably used where I wasnt worried about wear n tear after a hardcore session of gaming.
