We'll see but without the State Income Tax the situation would be more dire than it is now.

We'll see but without the State Income Tax the situation would be more dire than it is now.

States without a state income tax are doing much better than many states with one.

For example...

California: Super high taxes, an $11 billion (or more now?) deficit, their credit rating is "junk bond" status, double-digit unemployment

Texas: No state income tax, their budget is about even, their unemployment is around 6%, and their economy is doing well (I think it's actually still growing, albeit slightly, in this recession)

Yes, but it was just an illustration that conservatism works and socialism does not.

Socialist states tend to have high taxes and are in dire straits (California), while conservative states tend to have low taxes and are doing all right (Texas).

California being the classic case of socialism run amuck...but MA isn't far behind.

If you really believe that there isn't a TON of bloat in ANY gov budget (especially MA :laugh, whether it be local, state or federal, then there is no hope for you.

Yes, there is a whole bunch of pork they could cut out of the budget that would be very easy to cut.

Yet, when they try, the left will cry that the right is trying to starve their children!
