I was there. Didn't get anything. Line too long. Weather too cold. Fry's letting people in 1 person at a time out of 4000+ people...

I thought the beta was fun, but damn.. the only reason I've waited in line like that was because I payed 40$ to get into the amusement park.
 
Wow, is the game really that popular? You'd think from all the reports, that more people came for WoW when it came out than Halo 2 when it came out.

Well for one thing, there's a crap load of Blizzard fans alone, and a bunch of warcraft fans. And there's already a bunch of MMORPG players. And they just all come together for World of Warcraft, a Blizzard made, Warcraft Themed, MMORPG, and that's a crap load of people. Much more than just people who just play FPS games...
 
My roommate left for Walmart at 11:55 last night and was back by 12:15. As soon as they opened the box, he had a copy and right when he grabbed his copy, a checkout lane next to him opened.

i still refuse to pay monthly for any game. a co-worker might give me his 10-day trial voucher so I can check it out this weekend.

not all retailers started selling at midnight. take wal-mart, for example. they didn't start until 10am this morning.

they had raffles for stuff, like ski tickets, whole computers, 6800's, etc...
