WOW down again...

SP33Demon

How annoying, one of the only days I can play a lot and it's down for maintenence (has been since 7am). Anyone else's server MIA too?

Kil Jaeden is down too, very Fu$ked up, and even when its up it been running like CaCa as of late.

Its sad, they have such a good game but cant get it to run smooth.

I cant even log in at all, even if I wanted to change realms... 🙁 just hangs on Authenticiating...

Shadowsong is my main server.

The servers have been doing this for the past three weeks from what I can tell. I'm currently on Dalaran. Whenever I get the stuck at "Authenticating" thing I usually just Alt-Tab and wait about five minutes, and when I re-open it will be at the Character selection screen.

If you guys get stuck at the Auth, just let it play out... eventually it logs in.

EDIT: ICEDOWN DOWN AGAIN! WTF!!

If it makes you guys feel any better, when they try to bring up the "emergency maintenence" servers, it keeps crashing the other servers too, forcing a rollback. Twice today I tried to do the same quest with a guildmate only to have the server crash during it and roll us back. Also screwed up a molten core raid my guild had planned.

yeah im kinda glad i work on saturdays so i dont have to experience this...

only problem is my guild holds all of our massive events on saturdays, so when the servers are working i always miss them... =/

Hmm, oddly enough, the EQ2 servers are up. And when they reboot for maintenance at night, its back up in under an hour. 😛 😀

WoW is a great game when the servers are up, which is probably ~98% of the time. EQ2 is a great game 0% of the time 🙂

Speaking as one who's played both, I'll stick with EQ2. 🙂

i love low pop servers

I'd love to move to a low pop server, but given that I don't want to lose all I've done on my 60 warrior on Doomhammer, I'm stuck until we can move our characters to other servers.

Um I'm on Kel'Thuzad which is one of the servers that's at least listed as a low pop server. Wish they'd bring the server back up, hand planned on doing the Tome of Valor paladin quest.

When wondering why people choose to deal with Sony I have to remember that some find pain a turn-on 🙂

i bought eq2 the day it was released and i think ive played it like maybe 5-10 hours since that day... awful game...

even with all the server problems WoW is 1,000% better...

Anyone know what the emergency was? I ask because I've noticed several oddities lately (since a recent patch). The biggest one is that about 50% of the time when I hearthstone, no npcs show up at the new location, no matter how long I wait. If I log out and in, they appear again.

When are people going to learn that not all developers are the same, even if the publishers are? From all accounts, the EQ2 team has done a great job with server stability and updates.

I have played both WoW and EQ2. I am currently playing WoW. That doesn't mean EQ2 is a horrid game. I just have more friends playing WoW, and these types of games are all about the community. Because no matter how you look at it, once you get to 60 in WoW (which isn't very hard at all), you are going to either reroll or run instances over and over.

I get tired of people saying one game is crap when they most likely never played it for 5 minutes in their life. And even if you have, maybe you should try taking an objective stance for once instead of bashing some game you don't like.

I usually see that issue. Summoning a pet (hunter) or minion (warlock) always seesm to "force" everyone to reappear, suddenly. Annoying, but as a hunter, not a big deal for me.

When are people going to learn the simple laws of business? That an understaffed, underqualified and underpaid dev team is not going to be able to come up with a good & relatively bug-free game? That this and other shady/skeevy things done by the corporation which owns the title detract from a game? I don't want to click "no thanks" to nag-screen ads every time I log in. I don't want to "accidentally" be charged twice for the same month, and be told (if I'm even lucky enough to notice it) that it's my responsibility to sort it out with my credit card company. I don't want to be told that bugs affecting every single player are my PC's fault or be told "tough" when bugs or instability cause the game to be unplayable.

I get tired of fanboys and others too dull to realize there's an alternative to having the company behind your MMO of choice ream you from behind sans lube.
