This amazed me so much.

Most of Doom 2's level songs were based or literally copied off metal bands such as, Metallica, Pantera, Alice in Chains and Black Sabboth.

I wonder if the bands knew this was going on. Listen to the whole thing to be shocked

There was like no similarity between E1M1 and No Remorse by Metallica.

E1M4 and Rise by Pantera, same thing. Next to no similarities.

E2M1 and Big Gun by AC/DC, same thing. Next to no similarities.

Its all about the background beats, very similar.

There are some similarities, but I think alot of it is just coincidental. There are alot of metal songs that sound like each other too, and it doesnt mean they were all copied.

EDIT: at the end it says it lied?

Quake (1) used NIN music. Q2 used Sonic Mayhem. This has been a pretty common thing over the years.

Heh. Some of them I picked out just listening to the midi - Angry Chair, This love, and Them Bones. The Black Sabbath one was a direct rip too.

LOL, I remember the boxes of Nailgun ammo had "NiN" written on them. I didn't figure it out until later.

NIN (Nine inch nail) signed for Doom 3 yet im not sure if they ended up doing anything for it.

The title screen might be NIN though

That's because Nine Inch Nails did the sound track.

Definitely!

Ah man, I totally had flashbacks of D1 and D2...those games use to scare the bejesus out of me when I was younger! Wolfenstein 3D was my first experience on the PC with FPS...couldn't sleep too well that night. Yeah, it was a very pixelated game, but a young boy with a grand imagination = too much to handle! :p

yeah, I remember Wolf3D...it looked pretty good on my IBM 12in VGA monitor atthe time(back in 1991)...that monitor used to make doom look super high res.

I still occasionally Play the Doom series (I have original retail copies of Ultimate Doom, Doom 2 and Final Doom) using the JDOOM mod and it still can't get me jumping out of my seat at times...especially when strolling down dark empty corridors with only a shotgun and 5 or 6 round left....end then something big appears
