wow disconnection problem!

In the last couple of weeks I've had a funny problem occuring. Many times when I turn in a quest in specific areas (mainly darkshire and booty bay but it has happened in other places too...just not as frequent) I get disconnected from the server. You don't know immediately that you are disconnected due to the fact that you can run around and receive chat messages and so on; however, you cannot interact with the anything. Then you get the disconnected from server message. I reinstalled the game and this problem still occurs. I just wondered if anyone else had experienced this problem.
 
I know its a canned response but you should check the wow technical forums. I'm sure plenty of others are having the problem also.
 
Are you running any type of quest mod?

I had that problem while running and old version of Cosmos. The tech support forums would say that you should enable full duplex on your NIC to try to help things out. Also deleting your WTF files would help for a while

So it's either the mod or your NIC.
 
There was an issue with nvidia built in LAN ports and disconnecting on turning in quests. I don't remember how it was fixed, either a newer driver or changing one of the LAN driver options. I had the same problem with my nForce4 board until I made the fix.

Anyway it was specific to nVidia built in LANs and was a pretty easy fix as I recall. Check Google with parameters like 'nVidia LAN wow disconnect' or something like that.

This, of course, assumes you are using an nVidia board.
