right, because no one ever depicts death as a cloaked thing with a reaper.

Isn't there a south park episode on this topic? You know, where butters is captain disastro or whatever, and he tries to come up with an evil plan that hasn't been done by the simpson, but eventually figures out that they've already done everything, so it's ok.

I agree with Hero Monkey about the death part, its does make you look like a dweeb. (Black cape and hood, bony hands, cant see face and carries a sharp looking stick...yup, never done before in 100 years of cartoons)
Otherwise, you seem like any young male blogger who doenst get enough sex and obviously has a lot of pent up frustration to do this.
Hey, Im not complaining...better that than mutilating cats or appearing on American Idol.

I DL both shows and will say it in baseball terms: Family Guy is a .300 hitter like Al Oliver and Boggs were, South Park is more like a wild swinging HR hitter, lots of long towering shots which are just sublime and then quite a few where they think their premise is so good that it will compensate the lack of humor of the episode. And while I love a great fart joke, toilet humor and gross outs do wear thin (I have Stern on Sirius so no lectures).
Then again, Family Guy milks the long 30 second uncomfortable pause every effing show! Yes, we get it.
Its like discovering you can break the 4th wall and doing it every two mins.
I have to give FG the nod because of the musical component of the show. As a musician, I love the fact that orchestration is just an important part of the show.
My mom still watches the Road movie episode...and yes, it is a copy of the old Hope and Crosby series but that's the thing with 'in' jokes, you have to always reference to something else.

derek

Peter Griffin is a Homer Simpson clone, I liked when the Simpsons stuck that in a few times too. Half of their episodes I can fully relate to a previous simpsons episode, too.

I don't care, its still hilarious.

Okay, I think Family Guy more or less completely sucks, but I don't believe any of the examples cited on this page are real plagiarism.

SIMPSONS-

Skinner: I'm going to punish you for this, Bart -- and it won't just be a simple caning this time. Because you have impeded science, you must now _aid_ science. Yes...starting tomorrow, you will assist me with my amateur astronomy, taking down measurements, carrying equipment, and so forth. 4:30 in the morning.

Bart: There's a 4:30 in the morning now?

Family Guy-
CHRIS: I didn't even know there was a five AM mass. I didn't even know there was a five AM. What else haven't you told me?!

The only thing Family Guy has going for it is that it steals jokes and makes them new again. It's hardly a fault. It's what FG is.

LMAO at some of you people. OMG, a form of entertainment is not 100% original? :Q

Get over it, watch it or don't.

Well taking all these filched elements of comedy, putting them in the right place to make a (somewhat) cohesive story, all the while keeping it funny? FG may really be a masterpiece!

Oh whatever I don't watch the damn show anyway...

Blah.

Don't you people realize that one of the main points of Family Guy is it makes so many references to Popular Culture in America? Some of it is obvious, like the Kool-Aid guy, and some of it is not so obvious, like the Louie Armstrong joke,
