Thanx for the vid this is an awesome behind the scenes clip if you want to look at it that way, the required focus in this sport is just incredible. You must be able to make a decesion in a 1/10th of a second and that decesion will determine either you win / live / accomplish your objective / be happy or not!!

I have always dreamed of participating in an amature rally championship of some sort, or maybe start my own event that's how much I am enthusiastic about this sport, F1 makes me want to scream, while WRC makes me want jump and attack the TV , pull the driver through the screen and sit instead of him and take shot at it LOL.

Why do they need the second guy in the car? Do they have all the turns, etc. mapped out beforehand and they read them off?

Yup, you are correct. As for the vids, that on-board Lancia was GREAT! Left-footed trail braking with ease and he pulled that E-brake with pimp style, he must have known he was on camera 😀

I've noted a few curiosities

1. Why are the cars LHD? I thought most of the world was RHD no?

2. They sure seem to turn on the windshield wipers a lot when they wreck 😛

One of the scariest videos on the net...

Makes me sick to my stomach every time I watch it.

Wow, that is a good clip. Seemed like the car's brakes failed and he couldn't stop or something.

Because a skillful driver would pick a equally skillful if not better co-driver (and the co-drivers skill is saving the driver's a$$ 😉 by getting his attention to certain problems or anything else not driving skill itself)

Actually, most of the world is LHD. RHD is mostly just Britain, most of its former colonies, and Japan.

Rally originated in continental Europe (France, Germany, Italy, Scandanavia, etc.) which is all LHD. Hence Rally is all LHD.


The OP's vid was part luck but mostly skill. Amazing. But I bet he filled his drawers. 😛

Mud as slick as ice. You can actually hear him braking, but with the wheels locked up and sliding across the top the mud. Locked up wheels mean no traction, and no traction means no turn. Pretty sick. Looks like they got out safe though.
