Just had to make mention of this for those considering the purchase. I just grabbed it on Saturday and bought a 6 month subscription. I can't stop playing this blasted game. This is worse than my Diablo 2 addiction from days of old.. since you don't know me.. that means this game is bad... very bad :shocked:
 
I am the same way - i have logged way too many hours playing this game. have a 35 priest - doing well. and going to continue to feed the addiction
 
...and think of this, the game never really ends. sure, you can max out the level...and do eveyr single quest....but there is still PvP, new content, and raids. Even then, thats just one toon.....then you can start another toon and begin the battle from scratch 😀
 
I'm enjoying it a lot also. 26 paladin on Medivh server. This is the latest addiction with the string of SWG, Diablo 2, and originally Counter-Strike. Pick up WoW, you won't regret it =)
 
Good mmorpgs should be schedule-1 controlled substances. Nothing has grabbed my free time like WoW since old-school EverQuest (before Sony ruined it).
 
No doubt it is very fun. I just hope that they keep new content flowing and add new challenges for people that are high level. People are leveling up way too fast.

Yea true. It's a matter of weeks till I hit 60, not months. 52 now. I changed my order of 3 months to 1 month in my account settings.
 
bah! Evercrack was the first gaming drug. You should find a better name for WoW... how about World of Warsmack or something, that sounds pretty good when you say it.

Yep, this is my only concern with WoW; EQ was more difficult and more rewarding. Actually, making it easier was a big part of ruining it, although the PoP expansion and each one since then has been bad for its own reasons having nothing to do with ease. For now though, I'm not sweating it, just enjoying WoW. Hopefully Vanguard will be everything I want in an mmorpg, and hopefully WoW will tide me over till then.
 
How are the problems now with having to wait to get into a server and such? I've been considering trying this game out because of all the good word, but I want to play when I can, not have to wait.
 
No problems getting onto the servers anymore. They fixed that a while ago.

I want to know how people have leveled all the way to 50+ in this amount of time. I have played since day one and I only have a 26 mage, and an 18 warrior. People must seriously play every waking hour.

Im finding it harder and harder to lvl because of the 40+ people in the contested areas that just run around and gank lower lvl people like myself. I especially hate rogues. They just stealth everywhere and stab me in the back.

People with absolutly no lives or lots of vacation time are levelign way too fast..
it still takes me 6-8 hours per level now at 40..

and Im working 45 hour weeks so thats 2 evenings to get 1 level...

also remeber they picked a time to release when all the college and high school peeps have the most time off besides summer time..
2 holiday breaks in a row...

also make note of the patch notes that went live on the Euro servers... they raised AC and HP on monsters across the board...
to slow leveling just a tad more..
 
pure crack

over 7 days on "/played"

hit 40 and just got my mount had to grind out the last 15 or so gold

but it sure was worth it

now i am down to like 1g and still need a couple spells

hopefully i will be able to cut down once i hit 60

just look at the quest lists on thottbot. There are many high level quests, disproportionately so, for just this reason IMO. And they'll be adding many more. I have full confidence Blizzard knows how to keep the addiction, and more importantly the fun, flowing.

We're 39 now and only have 30-40 gold each, but we'll be hitting SM tonight which should net us a crap load, not to mention crazy loot 🙂

easy solution make a Hunter Friend...
also never travel alone in contested areas... much better exp if you have a hit squad with you..
and PK the Pkers before they PK you..

BTW you and your friends can kill l40s just use teamwork and the ZERG!

Sigh where can I earn 40g FAST =P
 
We play on a PvE server, but have had a few PvP run ins. Lol, always to our advantage. A Priest and a Hunter running together always, works out pretty well 😀

We've ganked a couple of players who turned their tags on, and destroyed a group of undead who decided to attack me after we attacked some npcs. Man players die way faster than most creeps. We were 32-33 and killed a 30 shaman before he turned around...seriously in under 5 seconds he was dead.

BroeBo, that doesn't sound fun at all.

didnt make but about 4g each time.. and all the items are rolled on Need before greed and even after that all items I cannot use myself and are not bound.. must be sent to the guild enchanter =/
