Wow, pretty surprised at people mostly agreeing with Coke Zero. It's rare to see internet not being too cool to like something in common.

I'll be one of the few dissenting voices - I don't care for Coke Zero or Cherry Coke Zero. Cherry Coke Zero is an insult to Cherry Coke.

yea same here i'm so used to coke zero now that regular coke taste weird.

cherry coke zero on the other hand fucking blows

It seems that soft drinks destroy your teeth by two different methods: decay and erosion. Tooth decay occurs when bacteria feed on the sugar left over on teeth. The bacteria's method of digestion, fermentation, releases lactic acid as a by-product, which then dissolves the calcium in your teeth. Because bacteria hang out in the nooks and crannies of your teeth, the acid is often concentrated to certain spots, causing cavities.

Erosion is tooth damage directly by acid without bacterial involvement. The main acids lurking in beverages are phosphoric acid and citric acid. Fizzy drinks also have carbonic acid that comes from dissociated carbon dioxide, but it is too weak to have any affect on teeth. Phosphoric and citric acid, on the other hand, cause damage by dissolving the calcium that comprises teeth.

The big downside with diet soda is not so much that the sweeteners are bad for you. It's that your body is stupid. When you consume something that tastes sweet, your digestive system expects to be flooded with sugar and begins producing insulin. With nothing for the insulin to process, your body starts craving more food. So diet sodas can act as a catalyst for unhealthy/over eating.

Did you only read the first sentence of your own link? How about reading the second one?

Cherry Zero is GREAT!!

Cherry Coke Zero is an OK cherry soda, but it is shit compared to Cherry Coke. Cherry Zero takes like something I'd expect to taste if I went to Wal Mart, bought something generic like "Sam's Cherry Cola," and then tasted it.

Is carbonation alone bad for the teeth? Isn't that the myth.

I thought it was the corn syrup.

It's the phosphoric acid and carbonic acid plus sugar (in regular soda) that are terrible for your teeth. In addition, diet soda isn't magically good for you. Sodium benzoate is nasty junk -essentially a carcinogen, phosphoric acid can leech calcium from your bones, and much more. Just google the ingredients list and you'll find bad stuff associated with most of them.

But its got what plants crave? :awe:

It's the phosphoric acid and citric acid, not the carbonic acid. It's too weak.

Diet coke/whatever is some of the most disgusting shit I've ever let touch my lips. It fucking burns you like you just bit into a fucking Xenomorph.

I can't imagine what that shit does to you once it sits inside your plump belly. Lining? See you later. Taste buds? Not tasting SHIT anymore.

Don't some of these Cokes have nasty fake sugar in them?

Fuck you and your mother fucking coke! I'm gonna poor out all those mother fuckers.

Now when I made this post, I told you it was just about "Soda". Then everybody had to write a post with a motherfuckin opinion.

Well this is how I'm going to do this:
Fuck Pepsi
Fuck Coke
Fuck Sam's Choice as a label and as a mother fuckin drink.

And if you want to be down with soda then fuck you too.

RC Cola, fuck you too.

[/ends fake rant]

I think for the most part, diet soda is sort of an acquired taste. It's similar to the people who like miracle whip over the real thing.

Do you really need to say fuck(ing) 8 times, motherfucker 4 times and shit 3 times?

lol. nice!

not a huge fan of coke or any of the diet ones, but coke zero is probably the least foul tasting to me. I usually just get real coke since I don't drink it often enough for it to be a problem though.

Just drink a regular Coke less often. It's called balance.

A 12oz can of regular Coke has 146 Calories.
A 12oz can of Diet Coke has 0 Calories.

So you can drink infinity times as much Diet as regular. 😉

I'd rather save my 'bad' calories for something I really really enjoy and there isn't a okay substitute.
