Wow, Charles Koch Gets Off The Trump Train & Boards The Biden Bullet Express

Well, the Kochs have always been more on the libertarian (i.e. sociopathic plutocrat) strand of the right than the populist lower-class part. Tariffs and trade wars are not in their interests. Plus maybe there is a bit of mortality-awareness and anxiety about 'legacy' in there as well? Too late in any case. It's long been obvious that libertarianism leads to Trumpism and to Putinism.
They are, however, perfectly happy to enable the other shit to get their plutocracy.

Anybody know what real contrition looks like? I don't because I have never had to repent anything. I am one of those people who get a sickly feeling I know not what I do, I'd love to cast the first stone but I built my castle on sand.

But I am a person of faith. I am sure we get what we deserve. So I hope Uncle Moonbeam can remember to say thanks. Life is a gift.

the kocks funded the early tea party and subverted a ton of the anti wall street ire coming out of the 2008 bank sub prime collapse into anti-government anti-science(climate change bad for petrochem). tea party eventually became the whacko facts resistant wing of the gop.

I suppose that he could have seen the cheerful response to his brother’s death and decided he wouldn’t like that for himself but I lean toward the idea that he’s full of shit.

No silly buns.

He knows a senator (and prior VP) that has been involved in politics for 50 years knows that he is one ball-shine under the table away from bending to his will.

Establishment politicians are all the same - they can be bought at anytime.

He also already knows that Biden is too scared to say "No fracking"

You have no idea how sadly predictable that is, turning statements from Charles Koch into an occasion to attack Biden. It all sounds peachy, but I doubt there's much common ground to be found at all. Charles Koch has been a driving force behind the GOP for 40 years. He's financed more right wing propaganda mills than you've had hot dinners.

Screw him and his redemption act. He and his companies spent a shit ton of money funding the development of climate change denial as a movement. If he wants penance, he can publicly admit that climate change denial is bullshit, apologize for funding it, and will an equivalent amount of money to counter the monster he created.

You all know if Trump won Charlie Koch wouldn't have ever come out and said what he said about his regrets for stoking the flames of partisanship and the divisiveness that came with it. He's simply looking out for his own interests by sucking up to Biden at this point in time.

Maybe, keep in mind he pulled most of his funding from Trumps campaign pretty early.

If he starts funding Bill Gates type ventures and pulls his backing of the right wing fringe (which became the GOP majority) FBM. I did, however, have some begrudging respect for his late brother for all the funding David threw towards PBS, Nova show, etc.

seriously fuck him:

Koch is still pouring money into the Georgia runoffs

However, as Axios reports, Koch's super PAC, Americans for Prosperity Action, is still funneling a sizable sum into Georgia's January 5 runoff.

Brian Hooks, the coauthor of Koch's book and the chief executive of Stand Together, Koch's philanthropic endeavor, said they continued to support Georgia's Republican Sen. David Perdue, who could be the deciding vote keeping the senate in Republican control after the runoff election scheduled for early January. Hooks said he and Koch think Perdue "can actually make a difference if he's returned to the Senate."

Perdue was a cosponsor of the 2017 RAISE Act, which would've curbed legal immigration into the US; Perdue has also previously downplayed the effects of climate change.

He clearly dislike the "division" of not everyone being against worker protection and higher minimum wage like he is. So he wants to "heal" that, by nudging Biden admin towards the libertarian dream-state.

Fucking Republican scum fucks always repent after they've spent their life destroying this country and right before they die.
The Kochs are scum but in their own class, and used their immense wealth and power to hijack the GOP into doing their bidding. Since Trump became President and established his policies as standard GOP stuff, the Koch empire didn't like that and have now switched "sides". If the super wealthy are on board the Biden express, you can bet it's not a good thing for the 99%.

Hmm we seem to finally “mostly” agree.
Congratulations on being only lightly partisan.
Refreshing to see a post like this from you.

The Kochs loathed Trump as a boor. They absolutely loved his policies of debt funded tax breaks for people just like the Kochs, deregulation of industries just like the Kochs', and nominating corporatist judges likely to rule in favor of Koch interests.

They also hate his ideas on globalization.
