I'd say if you want a melee class roll a paladin. If you don't want to be a pally then go rogue. If you don't mind not being melee and want uber solo class then try a druid or hunter. The only downside for druid is also a plus side... you don't need all epic gear, hell even don't need a lot of blue, to be the best at what you do. Hunter's, especially BM which is what I am, is a pretty serious class for solo- probably not a better solo PVE'er. Druid is probably the best compromise between solo PVP and solo PVP.

I went Hunter then Mage.

You can do the opposite cause the play style is completely different (much more automated and nerve-wrecking as hunter). It's a bit safer cause you there are so many skills to reduce aggro, and you can usually let your pet do the grunt work. That and being a dwarf with a blunderbuss is just badass.

Oh, quite while you can. I 60'd my Hunter, 52'd my mage then got bored out of my mind and quit.

I played runescape for 5 years and never got bored... Ill be playing wow for at least a decade.
