I agree (and I live there). It is the most beautiful province in Canada. I have lived in most and visited almost all of the provinces and BC (Vancouver Island in particular) is where I choose to live.

Victoria FTW!

I liked Sydney a bit more, Tofino is another great place (surf is pretty damn good there). Vancouver Island is amazing, one of the better places I have ever been.

I haven't gone up island at all yet, but I've gone to Vancouver and it's pretty darned nice as well. I'll be visiting Washington state in a month or so, driving down to Yakima, so I'll get to see that too.

I live in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island... and I agree, BC is the most beautiful province in Canada (however biased that statement is). Also, Aquaman is right -- Gordon Campbell isn't the sharpest tool in the shed (even though the Liberals are leagues ahead of the inept NDP) but his brother Michael Campbell has a great radio show.

I stayed at the Days Inn there, great bar with a hot ass bartender. Beautiful place.

I'm originally from the NE United States, only been over here for about a year now. From what I can tell, the Canadian government largely ignores everybody outside of Ontario, and the West (BC/Alberta) seems to feel mostly indifferent to the rest of the country, which may or may not have to do with the large concentration of decent weed out here.

Look at how well the BC economy is doing. All thanks to the Liberals :)

However, there needs to be more NDP in MLAs to balance it out. Having too much of a dominant party isn't a good thing, even though I like the BC Liberals. So why are we talking politics?

BC is beautiful and the major cities like Victoria and Vancouver have mild winters and mild summers. Heck, the reason why we have so many bums in Vancouver is because they travel here from other cities in Canada because it's much warmer here.

If anybody is ever in Victoria, and has a craving for some really good food, go down to Gladiola's on Fisgard, just outside of Chinatown, best sweet and spicy soup you'll ever have. If you tell them Sphexi sent you, well, they'll probably just look at you weird.

Doubt it'd help any, they don't really know my name. I'm usually there with my in-laws, who they would know. I'm generally just the white guy quietly eating while his Chinese in-laws argue around him.

I can't wait for the Olympics to come, but all this construction is getting on my nerves. I work around Broadway and Cambie, so you can imagine what traffic is like. But it's for the better good, just need to tough it out for a couple more years.

But with the Olympics, we have too many whiners. Too many people protesting the Olympics because of housing, poverty, environment etc. It's getting old.

When you actually visit though, you rarely see the same view since your eyes are not as good as the big ass high def camera and zoom lenses they have :) Plus they get permission to go to places where normal tourist is just not allowed.

I would invite you to visit so we can change that opinion. If you can see it, you can pretty much go there. Where wouldn't you be allowed? Personally, I love the Kelowna area.

After reading that I kept hearing a voice in my head saying "Nanaimo." It took me a while to realize it was the voice on the SkyTrain calling out the station. That and the warning bell when the doors close.

It's been about 3 years since I visited Vancouver, but I still think about what am awesome place it was just about everyday. I used to go wander around Stanley Park all the time while I was there.

The Liberals pay close attention to the west. They need to to ensure they don't miss an opportunity to steal our resources and money to funnel into Quebec, Ontario & the Martimes.
