Wow!! Blow-Hole dropped temps by 10C!!!

I never really like cutting holes in my case. I asked several forum members on alternate ways to cool, but it seemed that the blow hole was the only go. So, I called up a friend who apparently had a lot of knowledge at this field. I installed two blow holes, one on the top and one in the front (two 5.25 inch bays were taken up for the blow hole). I also installed two Vantec Tornado fans (yes I know, they are loud) and when I fired up my box, my CPU temperatures dropped from 42C idle to 33C idle and my case temps dropped from 40C idle to a very cool 25C.

I did a test later and figured out that the blow hole on the front provided the best results. My only guess is that all the cold air was taken in and blown in directly on the motherboard and the CPU.

it sounds like you've just managed to cool your sensor by 10 degrees...not your actual board/inside of your computer.

Yeah, and the fact you added 2 high CFM fans in conjunction with the blow holes might have helped just a wee bit as well 😀

BTW...where are the thermal sensors usually located? If I only managed to cool the sensors, then I will take out those two fans....60 dBA is too much for me. Even with ear plugs and headphones the fans are still screaming loud. Sigh... I guess $9 for both of them isn't too much to complain.
