So, what are you guys' impression of the BG implementation?

As a lvl 49 Alliance Hunter (PvE server), I've only done the CTF one a few times. The wait time was been horrendous each time (~1hr), with less than 10 minutes of actual play time (except the last time, where we realized we were shooting ourselves by finishing the game so fast, so we hung on to the last flag until time almost expired, so we could rack up HKs.) I typically defend from about mid-field and lead the game in kills.

I don't understand the wait times, unless it's simply because of the lack of Horde participants (We've never been evenly matched, it's always 10 against 6-8.)

--

On a side note, does anyone have an tips for beating a Rogue with a Hunter? I've been doing tons on 1-on-1 duleing ouside the BG instance, and I can beat almost anyone my level, but I've yet to beat a rogue, even one 2-3 lvls below me.

I usually start the match by laying a freezing trap while he vanishes. Then I basically run around, hoping he'll spring it before he stabs me. Once he does, I run far away, Mark him, then turn and Aimed Shot and Send pet, followed by Concussion and Sting to slow him down while wailing on him with Multi and normal, with a scatter when he get in range, then it's melee time.

I've gotten close, but never have beaten one. He usually gets to stun me and take quite a bit of my health before hitting the freezing trap, which hinders just how far a I can distance myself while he is frozen.

Don't worry about strategy vs a rogue until you get 60.

I like BG's so far. I've only played Alterac once and it was a huge lag fest, but I've spent a good amount of time in Warsong. I think the wait for lvl 60's aren't bad at all because there are so many of us, so the longest I've waited for a match has been like 5-10 minutes. But I can definitely see myself getting hooked on this, I'm trying not too seeing as how I still have 4 pieces of Beaststalker I have to get, so I need to keep grinding the instances. Once I'm done though, I can really see myself playing BG's almost 80-90% of the time I'll be playing.

Yeah and dueling sucks. I usually don't have problems with rogues, you'll develop a strategy that works for you when you hit 60... One thing I do recommend is a trinket you should pickup if you havnt already, it's called the Heart of Noxxion from Maraudon... great trinket to get rid of rogues crippling poison or whatever, makes kiting a lot easier. Using that with the corporal trinket and Stoneform (if you're a dwarf) really helps with being able to get to range so you can get your shots off.

i have only done warsong gulch (CTF)

i did two rounds and had no wait time either time (lvl 60 single player going first available)
first round i had no idea what i was doing, we ended up losing pretty bad. its hard to get good teamwork going.
the second round i did much better, but it lasted a long time since we were pretty evenly matched. overall i thought it was really fun and will only get better as people get more used to it and develop better strats.

you might have had to wait longer bc you are lower level and i would say a lot of people your level are out lvling

Wow, you just reminded me of a lot of things I've forgotten. I *am* a dwarf and completely forgot about stoneform, as I use it so rarely, it's not on my bars. I *am* a Corporal, and I forgot all about picking up our items for rank. That's in SW, no?

Yeah I honestly didn't start using stoneform till like 59 or so. It's quite useful. The key is activating it and removing it quickly because it does slow you down quite a bit. And yeah the guy that sells the stuff is right outside of the barracks in the Old Town in SW.

edit: and the corporal trinket is one of the most useful items in the game... I use mine /constantly/

Plant your trap and don't move. The rogue will have to spring the trap in order to hit you.

I used to so that, but I swear I still got backstabbed before he got frozen. Maybe I was lagging and not directly on top/in front of it.

And can't they disarm traps then stab you, or do they have to unvanish to do that?

Yeah if you're slightly in front of it you shouldn't have a problem. And as far as having to unstealth to disarm, I really don't know.

I have played about 12 Warsong Gutch matches already.

It is amazing. It's a lot of fun and very intense. Strategy is everything, as individuals by them selves cannot accomplish much.

I really like it. The waiting times haven't been so bad either. I also like how you can go on your way once you are in the queue and will be teleported as soon as the battle is ready.

Today I played 10 matches with almost no waiting between them.

I haven't tried Aletrac yet (I'm only lvl. 48) but it sounds truly epic.
