My friend who got 700mhz Celeron runs Seti for us now :)

He said he leaves it on 15 hours or so a day, so i'm expecting almost 2 work units :)

My server is almost done, 300 or 450 (OC?)mhz Celeron, I'll make sure we run seti on that also..

I almost have enough money for my AthlonXP! So if i don't get that 1.4 from that guy, I'll still be adding another computer to my herd :)

Give me 2 weeks, i'll have at least 5 computers up and running with seti.

Right on!! :D Keep up the good work Actaeon! Did you set your friend up to crunch for your SETI account or did he want his own?

Hes on my account :), we all share it. I'm hoping hes gonna get around 2 a day from that guy, 3 from my friend, and 3 from myself a day. So I'm crunching around 8 WU's a day as of now.

Basically, my server will come into play and will be on 24/7 as soon as we get another harddrive, we have everything for our server, other than a harddrive. So we are looking at one now, and hopefully we can get one soon enough, and I'll hope around 1.5 from the server :). So I should be hitting near 10 when thats installed.

Now, if I get another CPU, which i'm looking for. I'm going to give my brother my 1.2, in exchange for him running Seti for me. The CPU will either be a nice AthlonXP1800 or faster, or a 1.4 Athlon, as I'm still unsure if the guy will hand me the 1.4 for free or not. So, that 1.4 will hopefully crunch about 3.5 a day. And the XP 4-5.

I should be getting nearly 14-15 WU's a day coming soon. I know its nothing compared to lots of you guys, but I don't think i'm doing so shabby. I know the Work Units add up, and soon ehough, I'll have hundreds :), and I'm just looking to help the team.

I just felt like I had to brag a little :)

Thanks for the support MechBgon :), Crunching, as boring as it may be, somehow makes you wanna crunch more. Its addicting I tell ya ;)

Wow, I didn't expect so many responses! Thank you for the positive words, I'm just trying to get more results averaged in a day. So far, I'm almost at about 4, and rising. I am positive I'm going to get at least 6 work units a day from now on. I see some of your results averaged a day, and they are 30+, and even into the hundreds! Its amazing you guys get so many, and managed to get so many computers running! I can only hope to achieve that many. Still being in highschool, and without a job, I'm only limited to just friends, and my own computer to run SETI. After reading "our epic struggle", I do hope I can help push the TeAm past 11th, and into the top 10. I know my production is slow, but it adds up, don't underestimate the slow people in masses! :D

Unfortunatly, lately I've been slow, I've been modifing my newly aquired GF3. (threw some ramsinks on it, and trying to cool it down), but I'm done modifing it.

Confused: I'm hooked, what have you done to me? Its addiciting getting more and more computers to run SETI :)

Toft: Hehe, I can only hope I can bring as many WU's as possible to the team. My goal for now, hit 1000, with 10 WU's a day. I might not win any of our races, but I do plan on pumping out as many work units as I can.

Smokeball: I am really glad to be apart of the TeAm. I always liked team efforts, with such a great community here, and such a big goal, how could I possibly not be excited?

EvilWobble: Thanks for helping me setup that Queue, and I do plan on bringing it to its Knees, muahahah. :D I'm sure it'll prove useful when the main Berkley server is overloaded.

Robor: Yep, thats my goal, I'd love to hit 10 WU's a day. That's my goal. Trying to assimilate as many computers as I can :)

But, like I said, I'm just trying to help, and I do appreciate the enthusiam from the rest of the TeAm, now you guys are making me want to assimilate more and more computers :D.

Great work, Actaeon :D

Nice pace you have on the assimilations front.
About the average WU's pumped out by some of our bigger members:
if you can keep up with assimilations at this rate, you'll be passing them in no time. :D
Remember, it took some of these guys a few years to get this production.
A slow rise is a rise also and a lot of small numbers makes one huge one. :D

BTW You were talking highschool, maybe worth to try ........ :p

that's fantastic. once you see all the stats and you get used to moving up in the ranks, you'll do almost anything to keep moving up.

great work!

Nice assimilations :) ,btw don't belittle yourself ,that is a very respectable output you have already ,& you've only justgot started!:Q:D

Btw that Celeron 700 (that's on a 66MHz FSB right?)should do WU's in about 10-12 hrs ,depending upon the chipset its on ,my little brother has a Cel 700 Laptop with an SIS chipset ,it used to do about 12hrs/WU ,I'd bet an Intel or VIA chipset would be a little quicker though. So sorry to say that you won't get 2WU's/day with it running 15hrs ,but it will still add to your putput which is what counts:).

An Athlon 1.4GHz with PC133 RAM set to the fastest timings will do WU's in 5hrs:)
An Ath XP1800 with DDR RAM will do WU's in about 3.75hrs

Wow, the support keeps flooding in. Thank you! Today, I'll try to convince my friend who leaves his 1GHZ P3 on all day. hopefully I can convince him. And If I get him convinced, I can get my other friend who runs a 900mhz Athlon to run it also. I'll talk to my brother today about running it on his 450 celeron too, even though its gonna get replaced by my 1.2, it'll eventually give me a work unit here and there.

Swanny: Haha, Yeah, I got the bug alright. At first I thought my own WU's from my own computer would be enough, help out here and there, Now I just wanna help out more. It just caught on, I'm not sure why, but I'm not gonna complain :D. Thanks though, I do hope I can get that server running, perhaps we might even build two. We have the spare parts for it (other than a video card, but we can borrow one from my dad), but really no need, So i'll talk to him about it, hopefully I'll have 2 450 celerons crunching.

RaySun2Be: Thanks for the words of encourgement, I'm just trying my best to help out the team. I know if we all push a little harder, it'll increase our output by far in the long run, and I'm just doing my part :D

Engineer: Haha, you're right theres nothing wrong with being hooked, :D I'm constantly looking at my work unit, waiting for it to get done, and when my friends online, constantly bugging them to know how much its running, I really am hooked. :)

PeterN: Yeah, I'm in high school, I don't think I could get any computers to run SETI with permission. The only way I could is if my computer class has a cool teacher, whos interested in this kind of stuff, but whats the likely hood thats gonna happen?

Crazee: Yeah, being a kid without a job, constantly upgrading and building computers gets costly, Well, no it doesn't, because that never happens. Right now I'm selling old games to try to get a new case. Hopefully I can get that 1.4 from that one guy, I am really hoping for it. I really do need a job though, I'm poor. And Since we basically have an extra computer sitting around, all we are missing is a HD, that shouldn't cost much to assimilate it, my bro doesn't have a problem with running SETI on it, so thats good :D, and if we ever upgrade his cpu/mobo, we have extra parts laying around for another computer, other than a Videocard, but we can get one somewhere, so theres a possible chance of running to 450 Celerons for really cheap.

Testsuo: Heh, I'm just working my way up the stats, eventually it'll start to slow, though I am motivated to get as high as I could possibly can! I'm sure many people just quit within 1 or 2 work units. Thanks for the words of encourgement :D

Freewolf: Only if i have a budget like that :D, I do hope to assimilate as many as I can though :D

OhioDude: Yeah.. I got the bug, geeze, it caught on so quick, not sure exactly why, just, I want to do get more computers running this, I like to see my stats go up :D

Yield: Wow, nice CPU. I'd love a nice Northwood. But I'm extremely poor and jobless. Does that put out around 6 WU's a day? Thats pretty fast!

Assimilator: I'm just not trying to get ahead of my self, I'm very proud of my assimilations, espically so early in my "SETI Career", and I really hope I can get more WU's done. Yeah, people have been doing this for years, I'm just trying to help out the most I can. Not sure of the FSB on the Celeron, never bothered to ask. Probally 100? (7x100).

But everyone, thanks again for the very kind and positive remarks, the encourgement you've given me wants me to work even harder! I assure you I am trying to my best to get as many WU's done for the TeAm.

Just doing my part :D

What budget? I build computers on the side and sold and traded the old parts and whatever to build other ones My paycheck goes for bills and pullups for my little girl. You just have to learn to live without sleep

I see, sorry for the misconception. I have some computer parts lying around, and we do plan on are using them (our server). I just don't have that many parts. I might be able to build 2 computers, we have most of the parts, just missing one or two neccessary components. I'm already on a budget, I don't have much money, jobless, and just trying to get a decent computer, just last week, I upgraded from a TNT to a GF3 Ti200, talk about a really needed upgrade. Luckily as of late, I'm selling lots of stuff on the For Sale forum, so I've managed to scrape up some money for a new case (My case is the most godawful thing ever).

But like I said, sorry for the misconception. I had the image you buy alot of parts, and build computers out of them. But I was wrong, it sounds like things are going rough :(, and I do hope things turn for the better. Best of luck to ya.

Things are cool you just have to have your work money and your play money I just spend my play money on seti crunchers instead of games and look for deals when I have the time (Just got a case for $10.00)Got most of my parts off the for sell/ trade forum. Doesn't take a lots of cash just time and a few brains
Get to crunching:)
