Wow and CPU usage

I have marathon warcraft sessions of over 12 hours and sometimes my video card will reset and shut down monitor occasionally. I notice that during this my CPU usage is at 100%. My video card is a 9800xt. I have a 3100 amd set at 2.2 ghz and use ECS motherboard with 1 gig memory, which usually at 50-60% usage during game. The card doesn't seem hot and is not overclocked.

Is it possible that wow is taking up too much CPU. Or is my used 9800xt the culprit (it had a capacitor replaced I was told). Again this takes almost a day of nonstop play to occour. Anyone have suggestions on wether it is possible the CPU could be a bottleneck or should i just get a new GPU?
 
CPU usage at 100% is perfectly normal, and the way it should be.
You graphics card sounds like it might be over heating though, is your case cramped and/or full of dust?
Fan stopped working somewhere?
Etc, stuff like that.
 
Thanks I didn't know that. I haven't checked card on other monitor systems but the temp reading on ati's center says its fine. I guess its just time to up the card.. i will get a cheap 7600 and a pci motherboard. thanks
 
BTW I havent seen any improvements from my new upgrades. Apparently the new expansion pack has some lag in the login screen. My new GPU makes everything look green.
 
addict. If I were getting 25 cents an hour, I would hate it. And none of my characters have any gold. About 200G max from 4 toons 60, 41, 29, 29 and only 1 regular mount

No sun in nyc. But I am considering doing carnival in Salvador da Bahia Brazil in a week or so. Just for a week though.
 
12 hour sessions?! I thought playing Battlefield 2 for five hours was unheard of. I guess WOW is really that addicting, and I guess the gold mining thing is actually true lol.

He's probably raiding, you know, where you wind up loosing all your gold to repair fees ....

 
The only marathon gaming I have ever attempted was a result of an addiction to Diablo 2 LOD and that was going from normal to nightmare straight through. Never again. I was sore from it.

spending it all on throw away professions, tailoring, enchanting (a fortune), wasiting time going to ally land to find a death ravager. er not selling anything and disenchanting stuff.

lost a lot of money in my mailbos by not logging in for a while to certain toons for a while.
