Yeah I hate the BS of purposely waiting to send something out. I can totally understand if they use a courrier service that is slower, but to actually just sit on it is a piss off.

A lot of 3rd party sellers do this too, they'll sit on it for a few months before they send it out. I think what a lot of them actually do is they don't even stock the items, when you order, they actually order it themselves from another source, then when they get it, they ship it to you. So basically you're waiting for shipping twice.

I find Ebay is often better for that stuff as it still comes straight from China, but at least the seller you are buying from HAS the item, and sends it more or less the same day you buy it. I've actually had packages show up within a few weeks.

Interestingly the biggest delay with those China packages is not making it into Canada, it's making it from Canada Post to your door. These packages are free to ship for the seller/buyer and actually COST Canada Post money to process because of some stupid agreement. So CP has no motive to spend more time than required to process them, mail that people actually paid for is priority. I don't blame them. We need to get rid of these stupid agreements that make it cheaper to buy overseas than locally. It makes no sense. You can't compete with that. Lot of electronic stuff is only available from Chinese sellers, because there is no way you can compete if you tried selling those things from here.

Even though my college dreams died I realized I still technically had a .edu email, so I snagged 6 months of Prime Student. :)

Yeah, I had let my sub lapse last September. I was taking classes and realized that I could get 6 months for free and then $49 for a year of Prime. Sign me up!

And thank Walmart (competition for their free shipping quota dropping). It was definitely a reaction to Walmart's quota.

If I order a set of sheets, it's not like I "need" them within a week, or two weeks, or three. If, for some unknown reason, I actually needed them tomorrow, I'd go to Macy's or BB&B and buy the damned things.

Most things are ok to have delayed gratification. If I can afford Prime then it's a win-win. If I get 2-day (sometimes 1-day) shipping and I shop there all the time then it's worth it to me. I did the same thing as everyone else. Bundled purchases to get the free shipping. It bugged me how they held my purchase, but I factored it into the price. Amazon is great. I hate Malls and stores that don't have what I'm looking for.
