Wow, Alpha 8045 - what a pain to install... cools good though

Bit of a rant thread here, but installing my Alpha heatsink (not including the mobo removal to put in the sink's standoffs) probably took at least 10 minutes. That thing is definitely complicated. Screwing it to the motherboard went ok, but then attaching the fan was a chore, because the screws are so very long, and they need to go right into the holes on the bottom of the heatsink; it was very tough to keep them aligned, especially because the thing had to be mounted on the motherboard BEFORE the fan can be installed.
Of course, with that said, it did lower my idle temps by 10C, and my running temps by 5C. I just hope that I never have to remove it for any reason.;)

I agree that it is a bit of a pain, but the piece of mind it gives me that it's not going to fall off hauling the case around and that fact that it performs very well make it worth the extra pain it takes to remove and install.
