Um, 199 proof ethyl alcohol is impossible. The highest you can get is 196.2 I believe. Azeotrope effect in distilling. Look it up.

i watched my friend take a shot of 95% everclear, swish in his mouth for about 10 seconds, then down it with no chaser. crazy fscking canucks.

A word of caution to anyone who wants to drink 95% alcohol. My younger brother drinks this stuff, and apparently doesn't realize the effect it has on him. He's stayed at my place a few times recently and I swear he gets falling down drunk every time he touches the stuff. I've watched him get up from the couch and almost fall into my TV, also stagger down the hall all the way to the other end of the house to use the bathroom when there was a bathroom right outside the guest room. Another time he just passed out on the sofa. I have no problem with my brother having a drink in my house. I just wish he would stick with the 80 proof rum and vodka that I drink, or whatever else he chooses besides that 190 proof stuff. I apparently made him mad by saying something to him about it. It's my house and I don't want to worry about whether or not someone staying there is going to wake up the next day or not. He hasn't been back. It's his life and he can do whatever he wants, I just hope that maybe what I said to him will do him some good.
I have a question. I've never been drunk: I got kinda close once, and I think I'd probably be a friendly drunk if I ever got there 😀
However, I didn't like the feeling of starting to lose control over my thoughts, actions, etc. That was my 21st birthday, and I haven't drank more than 2-3 beers in one day since then.
So, question: why get falling-down drunk? Do you really find it that fun? Or in all honesty, do you feel like it should be fun, and that its a social thing to do, so you go ahead and do it so you can look back and talk about "Man, I was sooooo wasted this one time, I about killed myself, it was awesome".
Is the "I want to die" hangover really worth it? I mean, if you're really and truly lit up, can you really even remember any of it? What's the draw? I really don't get it.
