Well, it was certainly the hottest summer I remember, especially if you are not used to it

AFAIK, they don't have written records, but can tell by checking tree rings and soil layers.

I knew I wasn't imagining it - the climate in the summer is definitely warmer now than when I was a kid (here in the UK) and the winters are generally milder - this winter was barely noticable.
