i wonder if the item based matching service is this patch too...prolly not, but i can't wait. Equipment makes such a huge difference in WoW that I can't believe this wasn't implemented earlier.

screw AV, i hat that zergfest, the only time we go in is to pseudo AFk 200K honor a day druin Av weekends

im just glad there shouldent be any more 2 hour waits on WSG and AB, tho my server isnt that bad at all
 
I dislike WSG and AB because of preforms in megagear rolling the game. Saw an AB game the other day last a few minutes, with the alliance getting around 20 hks total and horde getting...wait for it...ZERO.

Bullsh|t.

Anyway, AV is cool cause the decked can't band up to utterly dominate the entire game and the horde can be The Horde 🙂:evil:

and by Turtle i mean stick all 40 people in a AV in frostwolf, all that does is make the game last forever, they need to just loose

and in AB when you are trying to take a node, attacking the GY is the best strat cause it keeps you off the flag so we can cap

if you mean camping the GY at your spawn, no we dont do that
 
i started to reinstall wow last night because i was bored and missed mmorpgs but then it coudln't read the cd and i figured that was probably a sign that i shouldn't reinstall it...

oh well.

all 40 ppl in an av in Frostwolf? what do you mean Anubis? The horde just hangs at frostwolf base? wtf?

On my server, the horde push like maniacs, tons of action.
 
Preformed groups should only fight preformed groups. On my server there are two straight pvp ally groups that regularly stomp on horde pugs, for WSG or AB. Now if you get a horde group together in tier 1+ stuff you can focus fire them down and win. Strangely enough even slightly under geared you can overpower better gear people with focused fire and better tatics. Nothing quite like out nuking tier 1& 2 mages, with my "meager" blues. :laugh:
 
TGS: yea, they are fixing that. Item balanced match ups and pug vs pug is the way it's gonna be. Maybe not this patch, but soon. Read that pvp interview.

sounds like av might be very interesting with the battlegroups.

On two servers my experience has been that the horde will win unless it's late at night and it's a close fight. As the horde has to go to sleep and starts losing players, we don't have a million people queued to replace us. It ends up a 40-25 match and even then the alliance takes forever to win.

With the patch that removed most of the NPCs and such from AV, the games on our server went from once/twice a week 8hr+ matches, to ~20min-2hr matches that usually have both teams working on the other's general, calling out health percentages. The matches are very close and wins are usually 50/50.

Uhh yes it can, my guild used to do AV runs after BWL raids and steamroll games in under 10 minutes.

Yeah but the alliance has that bullsh!t chokepoint in front of stormpike graveyard. 9/10 times when the scenario I described happens, it's because we're pushing SP and can't take it because of the blatant bias there. The alliance knows how much it favors them and turtles there. 30 minutes later the horde are like "f this" and /afk to go to sleep. We have no replacements.

As far as preforms, a CSM said something about the possibility of putting in a matching system. It was in a thread about twinking (where, btw, he also said Blizzard thinks the twink culture that has popped up is pretty cool, and it's fun seeing what can be done within the constraints of a certain level).

I don't see the need, if you want to win, make some friends and get in your own PvP preform. My guild goes up mostly against other preforms, and the more or less even matches (even though we mostly win 😛) are a lot of fun. Then again steamrolling a pug is fun too...

Heh, in AB, with my blue-geared rogue, I could take out tier 2 hunters while taking additional damage from a rogue. This happened multiple times in that game, while we were taking/defending BS.

I couldn't take out both the rogue and the hunter, but I could always take out one of them before dying. I'd usually focus on the hunter first, since he's more of a threat to the rest of the flag defenders. I didn't worry about the rogue because we had locks/wars/mages at the flag.

On the topic of AV turtling... on my server, when we were stuck in our base we'd usually keep them at bay for a few hours and then win. Most of the time, there'd be a few people screaming to give up, but then people would leave, and other people would join, and we'd fight back and win. That was always fun 😀
