Cold Mountain is playing in the background. Got me to thinking about the brutal warfare back then. I have always wondered what would happen if I had a time machine and could take back tons of modern weapons and fight in old wars. food for thought
 
Can I request to have the Ark of the Covenant? You can have all the modern weapons you want i'll still have Invincibility x10!! But on a realistic note, it would be kinda cool to go back and stop pearl harbor and 9-11 before they happened. It'd be nice to go back and dispose of Osama while he's still a fetus.

And didn't the North already have superior weaponry? It was just that their leadership sucked.
 
C couple of Apache gunships, fully loaded and given to the south would have shut the North down pretty quickly. Then the issue of States Rights and personal freedom would not be in the mess it is in now. The dederal government would have learned it's place. However, I don't think the civil rights movement would have taken place when it did mainly because the south would have continued to oppress blacks and slavery might have continued well into the 1900s because so much of the south's economy was based in agriculture.

How ever, go back to WWII and give the US the modern warfare technology we have today, and Hitler would have been toast in a very short time. and just imagine Japanese Zeros in a dog fight with fully loaded F-14 Tomcats and F18 jets. Better yet, the Helicopter gunships would have made scrap out of the Japanese plains in a matter of minutes. Early warning radar would have kept Pearl Harbor from happening, and our subs would take out the Japanese fleet long before they knew what hit them.
