Would your package have arrived today if it weren't the Fourth?

I debated on calling this the "Darn! It's just my luck!!!" thread, but decided against it. Just curious who ordered some parts and as luck would have it, today would've been the delivery day if not for the holiday?

I did. Waiting on my QUIET case fans and my new CPU HS.

Yea :( I am waiting on my 1.6a + DDR 3200. I am also waiting on my order from mwave to be processed because they think I am a credit fraud (idiots), while newegg has already shipped and it is on its way.

Oh well, at least the fireworks will keep me distracted :)

Yes this really sucks. Why did the country have to pick today to be born on? Oh happy birthday, USA. My new ao4 pioneer DVD burner is sitting in FedX in Oakland and otherwise would have been delivered today. Anybody know how long 4.7 gigs on MP3's will play. My DVD MP3 player is a single disk?

How long they will play depends upon what bitrate they are encoded at. Higher bitrate=more space on disk. XXXamount of songs burned at 128kbps takes up half the amount of HD space as the same amount of songs burned at 256kbps.

Damnit MichaelD, Do you have to be so picky? :D I knew, just knew that I should have added that I understood about the bitrate thing, that I was looking for an approximate time based say on 128, but I didn't want to put that in there cause I'm lazy. I suppose I could just go see how long a song takes to play and divide it's file size into 4.7 but I was hoping somebody might just know off hand.

PS I also know that it would depend on the space you leave between songs. :D

Ooooooooooooooh! Why two? I need a new cell phone...well, I don't need one; my current one works fine, it's just old. Not as small and snazzy as say, the ones you are getting!

Something like 3-1/4 days if I'm not practicing bad math today. 128kbps CBR compression puts you at roughly 1MB/minute.

Thanks, ObiDon, great name, that's a lot more than I thought. Now to figure out where I'm gonna get 4.7 gigs of MP3s. :D

The Fedex tracking page says my Orinoco Wireless Gold PC Card from NexGen was loaded on the truck here in town at 3:00AM this morning for delivery.

So yeah, it would have been here today. Oh well.
