In high school, I worked at ...Al's French Fry's i started there when I was 15 and worked there two years. The pay was good, but in 2001 when the new Staples here opened, I applied there and got the job. Well anyway, I went in to the restaurant yesterday and spent $11 on food by myself. If I were working there, you get all the frys, soda, and shakes you want for free. I ended up talking to my old manager and he said if I wanted to pick up a shift or two, just to come in anytime I want and I could work anytime. The pay is good and I would make the same I make at Staples :p. So do you guys think I am crazy to work like one night a week there just so I could get free food? or is that too Rossman-like? :p

Maybe, depends on the job, pay and what kind of food they serve (variety, taste and health).

But it's doubtful.

I am not going to make a permant thing out of it.... I was just thinking of working Friday nights there just for my food :p... I would continue to work at Staples on Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday. The restraunt is pretty famous and its pretty damn good.... The job would be working the register, which i can literally do with my eyes closed.... you guys should see how fast I can press the screen.

Yeah stupidly I picked Staples to work at instead of Best Buy... oh well I don't really get a discount, but do get first dibs on anything on clearance. Plus Staples doesn't really force its employees to sell warranty, UNLIKE BB.

It's about that time to start working at career-related places. You'll be sorry when everyone else gets real jobs because of previous experience when you've got nothing to show on your resume. Then again, depends what you want to be ... when you grow up. :)

I think Staples is pretty career-related... I am only a freshman in college right now. This job will only be one night a week or whenever I want to. I won't have a hard time geting a real job.

I did that in college. Worked at Best Buy for 2 hours a week. I spent more money there per week than my paycheck.

I probaly should have worked there when they opened here in VT. I just don't like the pressure of selling, and would rather focus on customer service... plus @ Staples I make about $10 an hour or more with the bonus factored in there. Plus when you figure pricematches and coupons, its almost as good as a discount :p
