probably take it off, there's no point to have it.

If you have a strong belief in its meaning, why not just leave it on. Will you be wearing it to work everyday after the interview? If you are hired, that is. Might not get the job because of it though 😕
I don't see why he wouldn't get the job because of it. I'm pretty sure everyone agrees that cancer research is good.

The key issue here is that it is a distraction. Hell, even a bad haircut is a distraction , and I am sure most anyone on here would agree that a good haircut for an interview is a must.

It is not personal. It is for your benefit, so they pay attention to YOU, not some bracelet.

Leave it on, it could be a topic of conversation in the interview.

It depends. I am just speaking in terms of general distractions. I have never actually seen the "Livestrong" bracelet, but from experience, distractions are only good if they are related to work.

Which is EXACTLY why you would want to take it off. An interview should focus on only 2 things: what you can provide them and what they can provide you.

I don't see why anyone would say you shouldn't, unless for some reason wearing jewelry to an interview is considered a faux pas. Do you have personal reasons for wearing the bracelet?

BTW, for those wondering what they are, check it out.

I just did campus interviews for my company yesterday. I'm a BIG proponent of suits and ties because I think that's how it's done. However, of the 16 people we interviewed that day, nobody got a higher recommendation from any of us than one of the guys I interviewed, and he was wearing a short-sleeved, button-down shirt and khakis.

The moral of the story: it doesn't matter as much as you think.

What I think is sad is that you even think about it. I'd keep mine off just because that way I wouldn't have to think about it.

Pretty good voter turn out. I wonder if everyone is just using this as practice for tomorrow.

I wear the bracelet because my dad gave it to me last July. He is a cancer survivor. Doctors told him he was going to die. That was 8 years ago. So he bought a crap load of them and gave them to everyone he knew. I still wear mine every day.

I wore it to the interview.

Got the job. As I was leaving heading outside the building the person I just interviewed, the director of IT, called me on my cell. Asked me if I could come back up. I did. Job offer was made, handshakes exchanged. I start next week.

If you see my blog below I've been unemployed since June 2003. Lots of PT work since, so this is great. Great timing also, I thought X-mas was going to suck, but now I can actually go out and buy presents.

Those things are like jewelry now. It's the next WWJD. I say take it off

You might as well "take off" your head... people can wear what they want, and stuff from charitable organizations = ++ in my book 🙂

It is great to hear you didn't cave to the pressure to take it off. I know lots of doctors and lawyers here in my city that wear them everyday. My own boss wears one.

P.S. congrats on the job.
