Would you vote for McCain?

If he died in a Halloween accident?

My wife just predicted that he will die before the election. It got me thinking...what if come October, there is a candidate that is leading the way by a wide margin, and then dies?

why would McCain die before the election? 😕

he's about as old as Ronald Reagen, Winston Churchill, and Golda Meir when they were in office.

I wouldn't vote for McCain if he could shit gold.

...not even if he picked RP as his running mate AND shit gold? 😀

RP would decline such a preposterous offer.

He could accept the VP offer from the Libertarian candidate however. 😀

That would almost assure an Obama win.

Would you like him in a house?
Would you like him with a mouse?

Lets see if I can get my arms around this question. Hypothetically, McCain dies on Halloween. Which means he is still dead when the general election rolls around . How can I vote for a dead man?

But I assume the question defaults to would I vote for the man McCain picked as his veep as a
in sympathy reward to honor the memory of McCain.

In my case, it would be, since I would not vote for a live McCain, why should I vote for someone likely even more clueless? But for people who are not as partisan as I, it may be more debatable and it would depend on who it was.

But this thread really degenerates when its suggested we might vote for a man who shits gold. I thought they already tried that with the man who pisses gold with rather bad results for the GOP.

Even if McCain shit enough gold to facilitate a return to the gold standard?

He'd just churn out so much, it would be worth almost nothing. Kinda like our dollar. 😉

Were they multi-time survivors of cancer?

EDIT: I gues it was only once.

The OP with the psychic wife does raise an interesting question. What happens if the Presidential nominee of a major party dies for any reason less than a week before the general election? If nothing else, way too late to reassemble that party in
some normal convention and come up with a plan B.

Does the running mate then get elevated to the top spot and then has no VP to run with, or should they choose the number 2 delegate vote getter which might be Huckabee or Romney in the McCain case, leaving the running mate where they were, or what?

But maybe we should ask redly, does your wife have a descent track record as a good psychic?

I'm an Obama supporter, but i feel that the country would do well under either Obama or McCain. I reserve the right to change my personal vote, based upon each of their answers to tough questions during the debates next Fall; but, right now, all of my thoughts are focused on seeing Hillary ejected from the race.

as for this dying candidate nonsense, i just hope that none of them die.

This is the 4th or 5th "what if the candidate is killed or dies before the election" thread that I know about. I mention this because I do not remember the subject being that popular before the 2000 or 2004 elections.
