Would you vote for Bill Gates if he ran for President?

I dunno if he could run the US like he ran MS. At MS, they sometimes fire stupid people. In the government, I don't think you could do that.

I'm going to guess that he runs MS really well to bring them where they are now.

Better than most companies of comparable size, yes. (I know tons of Microsoftees and am related to a few. I'll likely wind up there within the next five years sometime.)

But part of that is hiring good people and making them, as best as is possible, personally accountable for their work. That can be hard to do in certain branches of government work.

I voted maybe. I have no idea what his political platform is, as he has not expressed any interest in politics, let alone a presidential race. I would never vote (or not vote) for a candidate simply because they are xyz person. What the person represents and intends to change in the country is the important part.

Edit: spelling

He seems like he already has great leadership skills.

Bill has been smart and never revealed his politics. So I have no idea.

There is something to be said for, "Actions speak louder than words" though. He's been in a position of power for a long time and, although arguable, has done more good than selfish or harmful things. Politics gets much more specific than what we can observe from his actions though.

Good post. As for me, I could decide not to vote for a public figure based on characteristics they have shown, but I definitely wouldn't decide to vote for someone before I knew anything about their politics.

Bill hasn't done anything that I know of to disqualify himself, so I'd give him the same chance I'd give anyone.
