Would you use lethal force to defend yourself?

In another thread it was mentioned that a 16 year old boy shot and killed an intruderin the family own, and evidence very strongley suggests tha man was extremely violent. Loogie mentioned that he feels sorry for the kid and said " I know that I would find it difficult to live with myself knowing that I took someone else's life." Now loogie can't respond to this since he got himself banned but if you felt your life was being threated would you feel bad about using lethal force to defend yourself? I'm sure if that were me I might think back to the situation a few times, but I'd never feel an ounce of guilt or find it difficult to live with myself. How about you?

I would probably always feel somewhat guilty. Taking someone's life is a serious thing. I just think about how my parents or my girlfriend or my best friend would feel about my loss, and then realize there are other people who would feel the same loss towards the person I'd killed.

Would I use the force to save my own life however? Yes definitely.

I think I would have a more difficult time dealing with the fact that I let some scumbag harm my family, I would suffer no guilt whatsoever for ridding the world of a useless POS.

I would not hesitate if the situation warranted it. If someone broke into my house who was armed, it would be the last thing they ever did. If they were unarmed, they'd get away with a beating. ;)

When you show compassion for the criminal you show contempt for his victims. Yeah, I would defend myself.

If I killed a guy who was gonna harm my family, I'd feel darn good about it. I don't think it would phase me one bit. Sure I'd feel bad I killed someone - but I'd feel I did the world a favor.

My family or some lowlife scum breaking into my house.

I'd feel bad about having to clean his brains out of the carpet.

I might fell guilty, but I'd still do it. Better than feeling guilty about allowing harm to come to a family member.

If someone tried to kill me, then I probably wouldn't feel guilty if I had to kill them to protect myself. I'd probably look at it as they really killed themselves by persuing their course of action. I would be disappointed at the pointless waste of life.

Yes to the question. Only if threatened myself or if that person broke into my house. (I could care less if you're armed - you break that door/window and you'll have bullet holes in you)

Yes, I would. I'd also like to think that I'd have enough judgement to put a slug in the intruder's kneecap (instead of his chest/head for instance), but I don't know if that would be the case if the situation arrose...

can't u try to disable the person nonlethally by aiming at the leg/arm, or knocking him out with a spray/taser?

In the real world, it's too difficult to concentrate on aiming at an arm, leg, kneecap, etc. For your own safety and protection you need to aim right for the center of the person's chest. That gives you a much larger target and a greater room for error.

Yes, I'd use deadly force. If he harmed my family in any way, or even had the intent to do so, I would feel no remorse whatsoever. I'd probably spit on him after doing the deed. NO one harms my family. No respect for him, no remorse, no guilt.
