I could see H&F and Garage merging in successfully, but really it should be up to the mods and people that post in them frequently that will know best
Agreed. While I miss some of the L&R threads b/c I never think to click on the forum...I think that's a good thing. Most of us who "miss" those topics likely miss them in the sense that they are entertaining at the OP's expense, which isn't very helpful to the OP, who likely has a legitimate concern that more responsible people would be able to address.
Also, L&R is accessible to members only. Keeps it away from the google bots, which is a very good thing, imo, in that it respects member privacy and points to a legitimate attempt that AT respects and perhaps cherishes its members. I can respect that and think it is a very good idea on many levels. I'm not sure if this sort of access-denial can be done with tags or not, but I don't know anything about this internet stuff.
Other than L&R and P&N, I think there is too much OT-division. Many otherwise useful responses are lost b/c so few actually wander into the garage or health and fitness (as well as playful or useless responses, but I suppose you have to weigh the benefits vs the consequences)
