Yes for girls, no for boys. My friend got sent to an all-male school and came back a homosexual. I'd rather keep my teenage daughter AWAY from as many boys as possible.
So, by that logic, your son shouldn't play sports either, right? Think about it....all those guys....running...sweating....patting each other on the ass...you do know 90% of NFL players are gay, right?

Mugsy: You're a f*cking idiot. Please promise you'll never reproduce so whatever defective gene(s) you're carrying will die with you.

Hey calm down, I was mostly joking. But don't tell me you've never heard of men resorting to homosexuality in prison. This school was like a prison, it was a sort of reform school (boarding school). My school played sports against them in high school, and they did seem to have a large number of kids with homosexual tendencies.

I'd send all of my kids to a private school. I doubt I'd consider same-sex schools.
Nope. You're still an idiot.

Does it make you feel better to say that?

I don't even need to look at the name to know it's you.
So I'm to assume you agree with mugsy? That would make you an idiot as well. I say this with a relatively high degree of confidence because his assertion that single-sex schools make you gay is PATENTLY ABSURD.

He knows one guy who "came back gay" and that's enough evidence to pass judgement on every institution and every person attending them? THINK for a second; what do most people do when they get to college and are out from under their parents' rule?

...take a minute of quiet time if you need to....

THEY EXPERIMENT. This "one guy he knew" was already gay. When he got to school, he was free to explore his feelings. This happens at any and every university coed or otherwise since most people aren't willing to deal with the ostracism they would receive if they "came out" in the high school social fishbowl. Sometimes it's a phase, sometimes it's just their real sexual identity coming to the surface. Proximity to a bunch of people of your own gender doesn't make you gay. Guys getting busy with other guys in prison aren't gay, they're just horny and that's their only outlet. As M4H pointed out, those in single-gender schools typically spend most of their free time chasing the opposite sex whenever possible. They might as well build a damn railroad between Georgia Tech and Agnes Scott College here in town because the students at each school spend as much time as humanly possible at the other. You can't "make people gay" any more than you can unmake them. Pull your head out, people.

Keep an eye on her. If she starts wearing overalls and listening to a lot of Indigo Girls or Ani DiFranco, get her the hell out. :p

I wouldn't cause I think it's important to their development to be around different sex and learn how to communicate and be around them.

Dating is an important part to growing up, and the majority of kids date from within their own school. If you don't have any girls in your school, it makes it harder for them to meet girls and have time to get to know them.

Or vice versa, I've got a son so everything came out about dating girls :D

Haha. I figure she'll have plenty of opprtunities to interact with boys through church and other activities.

The school that my kids go to goes from 3 years old - high school. It's coed through the 8th grade and then become all girl at the high school. My daughter loves it there and she already interacts with HS kids through dance. Don't see any reason at this point to deviate from the plan.
