Would you pay $1,500 a month for broadband? What is considered broadband? I consider it <10 dn and <1 up. We pay ~$1,000 for 100mbit in metro area.

Who is so independently wealthy that they would sneer at that offer? Heck, if I could have that locked in for 10 years, I'd move to a nicer house and on the rare occasion I would really need a high speed connection, I'd go to the library.

For $18,000 a year, I could happily live on 56k.

Me too. Though the internet is definitely a fun tool to have around, there's a LOT more I can do with $1500 a month that's more memorable and fun.
