Would you sacrifice broadband internet for $1,500/month?

I'm sure there are lots of people here who wouldn't do it.

I vote yes.

Edit: You can only have a 56k connection if you sacrifice broadband.

Does that mean you can't do your job and get paid regularly? Or leisure internet? Because work has essential broadband...

Without consideration. I don't need broadband for email, news, and online forums. I just don't play enough videogames online or use Youtube much.

$18,000 a year just to use 56k instead of broadband? I'd be all over that.

Who is so independently wealthy that they would sneer at that offer? Heck, if I could have that locked in for 10 years, I'd move to a nicer house and on the rare occasion I would really need a high speed connection, I'd go to the library.

For $18,000 a year, I could happily live on 56k.

I can't sacrifice it because I need it far too much for my courses in college. If I were out of college, things would be different.

It would be tough, but I think I could do it. I might go crazy eventually, but that extra dough would sure be nice. :p

Me too. Though the internet is definitely a fun tool to have around, there's a LOT more I can do with $1500 a month that's more memorable and fun.
