Would you return a monitor for 1 dead pixel?

Well, I just bought a 24" Acer from a local Microcenter. They refused to do any check up for dead pixel so I just bought it and fired it up at home. I did a dead pixel test and there is a dead pixel only visible on black background a little off from the center. Even if I drive back there for exchange, I may even end up with a monitor with more dead pixels, who knows. Would you go back and exchange it until you find one absolutely free of dead pixels?

Nope. As you said it could be worse and also a lot of stuck ones will start to work after a week or so of hard use.

I would ... why do you want to pay for a defective product? Especially if it's in the center. Though, you might want to check - I thought Acer had a 0 dead pixel warranty.

No.

Hopefully microcenter has a similar dead-pixel policy to what newegg has.

Unless I could easily see it during normal use no.

That is, if the only way i could tell is by looking very hard Id stick with it

My monitor has had one since I got it. I was able to rub it so that it doesn't show up anymore.

Well is it dead or stuck? If it's stuck then there's a couple things to try to get it unstuck. If it's dead, or it remains stuck, I would definitely take it back. Monitors are something I usually have for quite some time, so I won't allow it to start already subpar.

I returned a Nintendo DS Lite to Wal-Mart before because it had two stuck pixels. I just couldn't stand seeing two green dots when the screen went black.

well, I can't really see it... I didn't find it until I actually ran the test. The fact that I have it is bothering me. :/

Kill some more...

I'd take it back, things like that really irritate me!

It's an exchange so they said it'd be fine for even for one. At least that's what the cashier told me.

Unless it is in the middle of the screen, no.

I have one or two dead pixels on my monitor but they are near the sides. I hardly even notice them.

no way, to tell the truth when i got my lcd i didnt even do a dead pixel test, 22 inch screen. You know, I imagine there are dead pixels but I have never noticed them and the only reason I would notice them is if I did a dead pixel test. Why do people even do those things? Just fire it up, do your normal things you do and see if you notice any dead pixels. If one looks for faults one usually finds them.

weel if the 1st thing you did was run a test to look for dead pixels on a monitor and you said you couldn't see any to begin with then you live up to your username.1 pixel being dead/stuck is not that bad and over a day of use you'll probably never notice it.

I did with my 17", & for smaller LCDs, possibly (depending where it is), but for bigger ones, i don't notice it.

I think my 3007WFP has one (i can't even remember), but if it does, i cannot see it.

It really depends.
