Would you report an unsafe UPS driver?

I've seen this guy a few times on my morning commute now and every time I see him he's driving like a mad man. Speeding 15+, tailgating, and weaving in and out of lanes. Today he did what many a-holes do when they don't want to wait in the left turn lane because it can get backed up on some mornings. He made the turn from the right lane that's required to go straight. I was going to swing into the outside lane because the inside was backed up ahead (This is legal since there's only 1 left turn lane) but luckily I saw him in my mirrors or I would've swiped him. At one stop light where is was in front he left everyone in the dust as he floored it when it was green. Pretty surprising how fast those brown trucks can get.

Should I even bother if I continue seeing him drive this way?

I see many more unsafe school bus drivers than I do any other driver except drivers in their personal vehicles. No one cares--especially the parents. I do not report them in attempt to support Darwinism.

Until that unsafe UPS driver gets into an accident and is the Company's fault and has to pay millions in damages. Yeah I think UPS would rather not have that kind of lawsuit on their hands and just refund what, maybe $1,000 of shipping costs for 50 deliveries?

Yeah I'm sure they say that out loud but internally it is just get the deliveries done on time. They have trackers on all the trucks, they know if they are speeding, they know about hard cornering and they know about rapid acceleration and deceleration. If there was a problem with it the driver would have already been reprimanded.

I have never been upset to be stuck behind a UPS or FedEx truck because I know they will not be holding me up.

Coming from a management background where i was in charge of hiring and firing class 1 drivers.

I say please do report him! Video evidence in the form of a dashcam is even better.

I loved hearing from people about my drivers driving when i had that job, i put stickers on the back of all the trailers giving people my phone # to call if driver was driving dangerously.

I would much rather have a day where everyone went home safe that a day where my driver took out a schoolbus full of kids in his haste not to be late for a delivery.

No I wouldn't, we have close to 50 trucks on the road with them. The ones we have now are relatively secure as they read data directly from the ECU. Our old ones that were GPS only could get the signal messed with which would give bad data, happened all the time.

Never, no. But their delivery route is setup to be the quickest and generally speaking right turns are faster than left. Google says up to 90% of turns are right hand turns.

Couple times I've been behind trucks where someone put a piece of tape over the phone number to call. Driving like an ass too. Made me want to try even harder to report him.

Report him. He isn't going to injure himself. He's more likely to injure someone else. Reckless people like that should never be driving. There are plenty of other UPS folks lined up to take his place who can drive normal.

Or if you need money....get a dash cam, paste together a vid of all his reckless driving, and sell it to a news outlet.

Everyone seems to live in the worst city anywhere for driving. Ironically, out of all of the people that claim this, none of them actually live in India or China.

I've only called the police one time to report a drunk-looking-driver. Generally, I leave people alone, even bad drivers, but this just triggered me.
I did call a number once from the hows-my-driving bumper sticker. But it was to report good driving. It made the phone operators day too.

Depends just how bad it is. If it's truly unsafe to the point of risking people I would, but if it's just bad driving, probably would not. Hate to be a tattle tail.

It's also super illegal to use electronic devices of any kind in any way (even snapping a quick picture) while driving so by the time I find a place to pull over I would forget all the info like truck number, license plate number etc. I guess this is where a dash cam would come in handy.
