It's a pretty well known fact that you'll be the prime suspect, (whoever smelt it, dealt it.) so, it would probably be in your best interest to just keep on trucking if you're walking your dog in the woods, and come across some bones.

Me? I think I might just keep on strolling..

Nah, only on the teevee. (depending, of course, on the dead body...how long it's been dead, what made it dead, and who it was.)

Oh, and if I made it dead, I probably ain't reporting it...and unless I somehow fuck up hiding it, neither is anyone else.

Nope, it's strictly a rhetorical question. Although there have been a few stories in the media of late, that appeared to indicate that the best course of action might be to simply mind your own business.

Well the characters in that delay reporting finding a body 3 days just because they don't want to interrupt their fishing trip to do so. I think it's supposed to show how bad their "moral compass" is.

Anyway, absolutely I'd report it. I'd first get the hell out of where-ever it was, in case the killer is still around.

Bullshit!

Finding a body while walking a dog, hiking in the woods, be it fresh or mere bones, does not make you a suspect. Unless that person is your spouse, then you are the #1 suspect.

Me too but having been reminded of the video above your post which I watched long ago, I think I might add that I see it as a citizen's duty to report a crime but that I knew nothing that could help them solve it and if they had questions to ask in that regard I would need an attorney present.

Also, for me personally, I wouldn't report it if I was a POC in any form, and even as a white male, probably only if I had a witness with me. Puppers don't count.
 
I have to think thrice depending on the situation. Being black makes me even a primer suspect.

I might not if it involved a dead white girl who may have been sexually assaulted, especially if I'm in the wrong state. I think we all know which states those are.

If I recognize the body (but playing along with OP in that you’d be a suspect) and if despised the person, yeah I’d may just continue walking.
