Would you replace a Samsung 172x with a Dell UltraSharp 2005FPW?

I realize it's bigger and has a higher native but is the monitor actual better then what I have?

I can get the Dell for $460 today. I can probably sell my 172x for a couple hundred.

So what do you guys think?
 
You should be able to get the dell for ~430 with the coupons and such.

I'd go for the 2005FPW, my brother has one right now and it's nice, I'm going to be buying one in august.
 
I have one, and I can't even compare it to anything I've ever seen before (excpet maybe a 2405FPW 😀). I'm completely satisfied with it, and this was after looking at many monitors.

Ok I got it down to $430 something.

I'm going to scream if I get a bunch of dead pixels!
 
Dell has a 21 day no-hassle return program. If you do get a lemon, they'll send you a new one and you'll get it within a few days and all you have to do is schedule with DHL to have them pick up the old one within 30 days. You can keep doing that until you get one that's perfect. Odds are already against getting a bad one in the first place, so don't worry, and don't settle for anything.

That alone pushed me over the line to get the 2005 🙂


edit - oh yeah, and if you don't like it, they'll refund you within those 21 days too.
 
Order has been placed. Kind of pissed Dell charges tax but still $470 isn't a bad price. Once I get it and everything is cool I'll put my 172x up on ebay.

When I place the order Dell's site said the monitor usually ships in 24 hours. However, when I got my order confirmation email it says it will ship on the 19th. Any chance it actually ships sooner?
 
The two 2005fpw's I ordered through Dell also stated a week long wait in the e-mail I recieved but they shipped sooner. I think Dell states the dates they do to cover their butts in case it does ship later than expected.
 
Yeah, Dell is just CtA's with that estimate, mine got to me in 2 days, then again I paid for over night, but ground should only take 4 days at most.
