Is space your primary concern? Large, clean one-bedroom basement apartment for one person available now in smoke-free, pet-free building. $340 per month includes heat, water, trash, electric, and off-street parking for one vehicle; located five blocks south of the square in quiet residential neighborhood within walking distance of the public library, post office, grocery store, and bus routes; photos available; deposit, references required.

Wow, I really can't see anyone living here. I guess it may be better than some places out there.

Where's the apartment located? 340 a month seems really expensive to me for an unfurnished basement apartment that looks to be that old. I mean, you literally have to buy everything from the shower curtain up. In addition, taking its age into consideration, I don't know if internet/tv jacks would be available.

I would not rent it.

well if your low income you could rent it. that comes down to 280 rent if your factor out the utilities. that not too bad. again it depends on your income.

on second thought does it have a fridge and microwave. cuz if you have to buy those then the whole deal sucks.

Better than living on the street. Besides, decor can do a lot for any place if you do it right, and it includes all the utilities and stuff.

The bathroom makes me sad :(

In movies I've seen a lot of murdered people in those kinds of tubs... with their lifeless leg hanging off the lip :( :( :(

OMG OMG bunny scared ><

i kind of like the inside looks of that place actually. It all depends on the location though. if I get depressed looking out the window I won't rent it.

LMAO! So true. I've probably seen at least 5 scary movies with someone bloody and drowned in a tub like that.

Wow, $340. Where do you live? That's a bargain. I'm paying $1,000 for a 290 square ft studio.

I wouldn't mind it too bad....

All it'd need is some brighter paint, and maybe an uncreepy bathtub

But all the same, with a little work it'd be fine (assuming the landlord would let you paint it)

Besides, it even comes with a free scrubby pad for the kitchen sink ;)

It doesn't seem that spacious. Clean, but very old. The kitchen area might be cramped. I would if I had to.

If some things were replaced and pipes hidden, it's probably be much better.

You should give some thought to those radiators. If you don't have control over the thermostat, they will either bake you out or freeze your butt off.

Had one of those, hated it.

Depends on what area of Illinois I guess. I got a MUCH nicer apartment in Indiana for $400 a month.

That is one ugly apartment. I had some doozies in the past, but none that bad.

I'd like to see Trading Spaces or Queer Eye take a shot at THAT one!
