Unless there is a large movement in protest, it really doesn't make sense to protest it. The value of the dollar is going to decline even if you don't take the money, so you really can't hurt the economy in any significant way. On a side note, how are the asshats in congress getting reelected with dumb plans such as this? Gosh forbid we have a sense of accountability and restraint this day and age.

I'd spend it on stupid shit too, except that I just spent $8K on services and materials resulting from a leaking gray water line under our house. And bought a new car earlier in the year, so I've freaking done my part.

I was under the impression that we would have to pay it back next year. That is, all we'd be doing is ensuring that we owe $600 more on next year's taxes.

I've been wondering about this, and it seems no one has a solid answer yet... But from what I gather, this is a tax cut for next year, but we're getting the money this year.
