I still use my 5 or 6 year old AOL account for e-mail cuz I'm too lazy to take the 1-2 mins to do all the POP, etc. settings in Outlook, etc. And I've been using the same E-mail for that long, so it's kinda nice to keep it. I just have the BYOA (bring your own access) plan though. I connect to AOL via tcp/ip, RoadRunner is my i-net ISP.

What a ridiculous question. Granted AOL is not my first choice, it's better than nothing.

No internet? Hell no. As much as I despise AOL they are better than nothing. As long as it's AOL for broadband and I can use another browser then I have to do what I have to do.

Its slow, and $24 a month.

And during their "free trial" they make a bunch of $1 charges to your credit card that for some reason discover wont let you dispute.

Although NOWHERE in the contract that i read word for word did it mention the $1 charges. The only possible route would be "using premium services" which at $24 a month there shouldnt be any, and on top of that... I did nothing but post at AT and play games online. Then my discover bill came and i had 8 $1 charges from AOL.

Cancelling is a bitch, when you do finally find the phone number to cancel there are long waiting periods on the phone and they try to pitch all kinds of crap to keep you on so they can whack you for more bogus $1 charges...

In closing, fvck AOL.
